The People of Patrala Nagara

The NPCs of Zamzara

Patrala Nagara is a decently-sized town, and as such, is full of people. Some are more prominent than others. This is the page cataloging their lives and deeds, though they pale in comparison to true heroes. They are organized according to their station in life.

The Nobility

Buyo Zamong
Buyo Zamong
PERSONALITY: Buyo is the greedy new mayor of Patrala and he is very proud of the new railway he championed. He tends to be condescending, but polite.
APPEARANCE: He is a man of slight, but average build, who dresses in the latest fashion from Sagara Nagara and smells of flowers. His hair is always perfectly parted and oiled, as is his thin mustache.
MOTIVATION: As next in line to become patriarch of the Zamong family, Buyo is dedicated to cementing the reputation of himself and his family as pioneers, invaluable to the community. This is true, but only in that it helps him grow more prestigious and powerful.

Hana Zamong
Hana Zamong
PERSONALITY: Hana is the mayor’s eldest daughter. Outgoing and caring, she likes talking to lower class people, but is secure and comfortable with her station.
APPEARANCE: Wearing her hair in an ornate braided bun, she clearly takes care of herself. She is the picture of traditional Zamzian beauty: tall, healthy, and poised.
MOTIVATION: She is excited and supportive of her father’s rail, but worried about how it will affect some of the townsfolk she’s come to know.

Umar Zamong
Umar Zamong
PERSONALITY: Umar is the owner of the general store in Patrala. He only likes speaking with his family, but tolerates customers and the indignity of mercantilism.
APPEARANCE: He has a nasally, whiny voice, and is rather overweight.
MOTIVATION: He’s only shopkeep because his family asked him to... and there's nothing else he's good at.

Chu-ling Choo
Chu-ling Choo
PERSONALITY: Chu-ling is a sly man prone to holding grudges. He is patient, but hates to lose.
APPEARANCE: He is an older man with a slight hunch and golden glasses. His entire head is completely hairless.
MOTIVATION: As the patriarch of the Choo family, it is his duty to see that they acquire as much power and prestige as possible.

Al-Singh
Al-Singh
PERSONALITY: Al-Singh is a wizard of unfathomable arcane power… that he never showcases. He is impatient and ill-tempered.
APPEARANCE: He has a long pointy beard and a dark complexion, as if he were outside often.
MOTIVATION: He would really prefer if you could bugger off so he can get back to his studies.

Jin the Mageling
Jin the Mageling
PERSONALITY: Jin is the teenage apprentice to Al-Singh and is haughty, but dedicated.
APPEARANCE: She's a scrawny girl who is never seen outside of big, floppy hats.
MOTIVATION: She is a descendant of the Bahum family, a prominent member of the Ministry of Rites, but was orphaned at a young age. She is determined to restore her family name.

Sadhvi Priya

PERSONALITY: Priya is a dutiful woman with a religiously-informed hatred of monsters.
APPEARANCE: She is a middle-aged woman with deep lines on her usually-frowning face.
MOTIVATION: Everything she does is to help the people of Patrala Nagara and Humanity as a whole.

The Laborers

June, the Survivalist
June, the Survivalist
PERSONALITY: June is rather reclusive and prefers being in the wilderness, away from people.
APPEARANCE: A dark young woman with freckles and a gloomy look on her face.
MOTIVATION: Her grandmother was integral to the Patrala Festival and June wants to follow in her footsteps despite not being from Patrala herself.

Hibari, the Blacksmith
Hibari, the Blacksmith
PERSONALITY: Gruff, but honest and straightforward. Bad with names, good with faces.
APPEARANCE: A leathery, bearded old man with a lopsided squint.
MOTIVATION: He’s the town smith, making tools, weapons and other metal instruments for people.

Shi, the Cartographer
Shi, the Cartographer
PERSONALITY: Shi is cowardly, but passionate. He wants to help, even if he shouldn't.
APPEARANCE: He's a pudgy young lad with a terrible bowl-cut who often trips over his robes.
MOTIVATION: He is truly passionate about the field of cartography, but has a strong interest in history as well.

Sun Ko Ku, the Alchemist
Sun Ko Ku, the Alchemist
PERSONALITY: Sun's head is always in the clouds, and has trouble staying focused on work. He is nice, though.
APPEARANCE: A skinny man dressed in rubber, heavily stained robes. Usually wears a magnifying visor.
MOTIVATION: Now that his son's soul has been restored, he just wants the kid to grow up well.

The Adventurers

Yoshitaro
Yoshitaro
PERSONALITY: Yoshitaro is no-nonsense man defined by his general competence. He is stoic, yet cares deeply about the town.
APPEARANCE: In full samurai armor nearly 24/7. Has massive eyebrows.
MOTIVATION: Leader of the Pokemon Guild. He’s been though battle enough to know how to keep people together, and that’s what he and the Guild intend to do.
His best friend Hasan co-founded the Guild with him, but disappeared on a rescue mission a year ago.

Kemo-O
Kemo-O
PERSONALITY: Kemo-O is a very grim and pessimistic man who only ever works alone.
APPEARANCE: He is wiry, but moves with grace and is always visibly alert to his surroundings.
MOTIVATION: Troubled by an unknown event, he throws himself into adventuring to flee from something in his past.

Jūjī-bīng
Jūjī-bīng
PERSONALITY: A nearly mute consummate professional. He is about the mission and nothing else.
APPEARANCE: His face is hidden by a burnished glass helmet that reflects the world around him that has 2 runes on it: One beneath the chin and another at the nape of the neck.
MOTIVATION: He only handles the most dangerous tasks for the Guild, for whatever reason.

Shu, the Rune Priestess
Shu, the Rune Priestess
PERSONALITY: Shu is dutiful and steadfast, devoted to truth and justice.
APPEARANCE: She is an armored woman with a permanently stoic look on her face no matter the situation.
MOTIVATION: She’s silently guilty about something and follows the Cult of the Emperor as redemption. She has looked within and realized her calling as a protector of the weak.

Yao, the Khedan
Yao, the Khedan
PERSONALITY: He’s a bit jumpy and prefers to run away from his problems instead of tackling them head-on.
APPEARANCE: He’s short and skinny, and his long black hair is typically tied into a ponytail. His eyes are a bit shifty.
MOTIVATION: He wants to be stronger so he can do something about the world… but he still thinks it’s scary out there.

The Miscellaneous

Mariyu
Mariyu
PERSONALITY: Mariyu is a gregarious woman with high-class tastes and interests.
APPEARANCE: She is extremely beautiful and well-dressed, and clearly fit, judging by her slim muscles.
MOTIVATION: Hailing from Sagara Nagara, she is visiting Patrala to experience the railroad and rural life.

Sanjay & Sharmila
Sanjay & Sharmila
PERSONALITY: A pair of orphaned twins who were rescued from bondage by Rodel and Tsurugi. Sanjay is mute from trauma and Sharmila tries to be the more mature of the two.
APPEARANCE: The pre-teens look nearly identical, both dark of hair and skin. Sanjay is undergrowing growth spurts, while Sharmila wears a different flower in her hair every day.
MOTIVATION: With everything taken from them, the twins latch onto anything that gives their lives purpose and meaning. They never want to be alone again.
