Schloopur

[WIP]

Backstory

Shloopurr was born in the basement storeroom of the Queen's Grace Tavern, as part of a very mean wizard's ooze breeding program. He tortured them and tested them and experimented with all sorts of spells on them and one day, one of them produced several offspring, one of which was Shloopurr. Whether it was the spells, or a random mutation of the oozes in response to their horrible environment, Shloopurr could think for itself, and rapidly learned how to mimic many sounds, especially the sounds of the music coming from the tavern above.   This is, of course, how Gesten, owner and proprieter of the Queen's Grace Tavern discovered Shloopurr and the other oozes, and learned of the really very mean wizard's quite awful experiments. Taking pity on Shloopurr, he rescued it from the wizard and gave it into the care of the leader of the troupe who had been performing at his inn, Lox, in return for a bag of clinking things which Shloopurr later learned were coins.   Once in the loving company of the Laughing Harpy Troupe, Shloopurr learned many words, how to say various things, and play music by imitating the sounds of various instruments, animals and people. It also learned how to get in and out of all kinds of places like boxes and locked doors and chests when the troupe went on their nightly prank trips to visit their sleeping friends. Together, they travelled from city to city for a few years until unfortunately the entire troupe was imprisoned by some very mean and humorless people who were not happy about the nightly pranks the troupe performed. In the trial that followed, Shloopurr happily "took one for the team" and went to a dark, scary place called "prison". When it got out a few years later, Shloopurr couldn't find the troupe again, and so decided to set off to see the wide world and maybe, hopefully, find its friends along the way. Shloopurr is so excited to meet many new friends and to play many pranks on them like making them laugh for a really long time, or making them go to sleep, or taking their money and seeing how long it takes them to figure out it's gone.
