Djell

The continent Djell is one of the bigger land masses on Yðuun. Due to the hot winds arriving from the ŋaʃee sea situated in the south every autumn and spring, most of its area is covered by sand, dunes, and mountains, the blazing sun drying up anything its light touches. Only a few little realms lying protected by the shoulder blades of tall mountains get enough fresh water to turn their dry soil into fruitful farm lands.
After being discovered by a group of shipwrecked people, a single little town, Djell'ak, was founded to secure the means of survival for the few unlucky beings that had made their way to this unfriendly lump of ground. Many more settlements and towns as well as the occasional bigger city sprung up over the centuries but most of them died as quickly as they appeared as the harsh conditions of the climate and the land make living on this land almost impossible. Up to this day, no real states or nations have formed on Djell besides a single city state here and there. This means, the continent is without laws, still largely undiscovered, and for the most part uncharted.
