Anatomy

A blambro tree is a relatively short tree the top of which regularly growing to about 10 feet tall. the trunk of the tree is rather thin but quite elastic and can be used to make a kind of rubber. The roots of the blambro trees are gnarled and twisted usually being well above the soil line sinking in only enough root to stabilize its own weight and keep its "stomach" covered. at the top of the trunk of the blambro is an open maw designed to catch birds and rainwater much like a pitcher plant.

Genetics and Reproduction

when a blambro reaches sexual maturity one or more of its roots will detach from the main plant and become its own mobile organism resembling a snake, from here it will slither across the lands until it comes across another blambro where it will slither into its maw and be broken down for its genetic material.

Growth Rate & Stages

A blambro begins as a coconut-like hard seed that will sprout. depending on available rescources it will grow a maw over the course of next few years and a few years after that reach sexual maturity.

Ecology and Habitats

A blambro can technically groww anywhere but prefer the dense jungles of straubin

Dietary Needs and Habits

a long but relatively weaak tounge is housed within the slippery maw and while it does not have the strength to pull in a human or even try for that matter it is used to gather small rodents birds or other such animals that may try to seek shelter in its branches.

Biological Cycle

in their homeland of straubin blambros dont require their maws to live even though they have them anyway. though if planted in colder climates they require more nutrition then sun or soil can offer.

Additional Information

Domestication

blambros while typically too rescource intensive to be a staple crop are grown as a cash crop by larger Topsider settlements specifically Icarus

Uses, Products & Exploitation

the throat that leads food from the maw to the stomach can be refined into a strong rot resistant rubber. A blambros digestive fluids make for a decent disinfectant and stain remover A blambrow can be cut along its roots and "bleed" a highly nutritious milk or nectar which has become vital for supporting larger human populations as trash can be deposited into the blambro which will then produce this nutrient rich milk for consumption. once a year fertilized blambros wwill grow large seeds that can be cracked open for a savory treat. the "vinesnakes" that often slither off of sexually mature blambros are often consumed as a delicacy much to the disgust of some and delight of others.
