Welk Weraso: The Subjugation of Welkwu

The Conflict

Prelude

The Ugo-yt Empire during its rise was humiliated by an expeditionary force by Welkwu some eight decades prior. They never forgave the city state for this defeat. Welkwu, stifled by its two large neighbors Keyrit and Wlitowa from territorial expansion, grew immensely through industry and commerce. The Ugo-yt Empire conquered nearly the entirety of both Sister Continents, gaining massive amounts of resources and manpower. When the "rivals" met each other again, Ugo-yt came will prepared, and they played for all the marbles.

Deployment

The Empire was too wise to storm the well defended, heavily populated coastal regions of the city proper. Instead, they approached from either side of the city. They scaled up the Wluwut Kaukroyi and overwhelmed the basic maintenance workers stationed there, though the mechanics miraculously resisted for several hours.

Conditions

Welkwu's water supply was disconnected from its thirsty masses; the government's limitied storage could only quench their populace for a year. They resolved to hold out in the hopes that Wlitowa and Keyrit would rescue them with their substantial military power. They rationed their supplies extremely carefully, and in fact they harnessed the plentiful rains of 305 enough to stretch the siege from 304 to 306.

The Engagement

The Ugo-yt Empire had swept past almost the entirely of Wouraiya, and the length of this siege frustrated the Ugo-yt high command. The intensity of assaults increased, but still the town held firm. The water depleted, with no allied ships on the horizon, the local government elected to sally out with their remaining garrison. As they struck enemy lines, unengaged Ugo-yt forces moved forward to enter the city. Welkwu soldiers, split between protecting civilians and driving off invaders, began to lose cohesion. They were quickly surrounded, and so they surrendered.

Outcome

In the absence of news across enemy lines, they discovered that they outlasted their supposed superior ally: Wlitowa was completely overrun by Ugo-yt forces. Fueled by revenge, Ugo-yt soldiers utterly dismantled the city; it would never return to the trade hub it once was. Nonetheless, its autonomy was reinstated upon liberation. Mere hundreds remained to rebuild the civilization.

Good breakdown of the goals and actions of the two parties involved, and a nice, succinct look at the long term consequences.

Thanks! I want to make my dossiers as compact and efficient as possible. My standards are college level with a minimum of duplicated words. I'm glad you found it beneficial! If I expand, it will reflect the same quality.
