Privy Council
The king is advised by and administers through the privy council, whose members are appointed at the monarch's discretion, but currently include his Chief Singer, Chief Warrior, Chief Diplomat, Chief Steward, Treasurer, Chaplain, and Scribe.
The Chief Singer is the leader of the Wealding Singers, who act as historians, tradition-keepers, teachers, and heralds. In his capacity as chief singer, he is responsible for the training, certification, and organization of singers throughout the weald, especially in rural areas. He also acts as legal counsel for the king.
The Chief Warrior is in charge of the Wealding military. Largely, this is focused on developing land-based army strategies and defenses, but the recently formed wealding navy also falls under her purview. She is responsible for training and maintaining the small professional army and navy, as well as maintaining the framework that allows the warriors of each clan to fight together on an as-needed basis.
The Chief Diplomat is often also a singer, but is specifically responsible for providing information about other nations and for guiding policy and interactions with other nations. He is responsible for the Weald's embassies to other nations, for interacting with their embassies in the weald, and for maintaining a spy network.
Chief Steward is the leader of the Stewards throughout the Weald. Stewards administer governmentals functions such as public works and tax collection on both the national and clan scale.
The King's Treasurer is responsible for the monetary policy and accounting for the Wealding government and for the king personally.
The King's Chaplain is the official representative of the temples to the king, as well as acting as a religious advisor to the king personally.
The King's Scribe is responsible for organizing the logistics of meetings, maintaining and researching written records as needed.
