parents went for a hunt in the norther part of the forest however durring the hunt. mother and father stumbled upon a dark cult ritual.  it happened durring Thorns Darkness.  The Cult of Mystra's Folly summoned a Dark Knight they chanted Godess of Midnight the true Ruler of Magic Bestoe us your Blade - Night Slinger Namue Isardum the Eldritch
Imediately the Night Slinger killed all the summoners and absorbed their esseneces and created 6 mephits of various types.  The magma mephit started the north part of Everdine forest on fire.  Her partents survived the blaze but it was costly.  They both got sever burns from a tree falling on Vera's mother.  This broke her back.  Vera's fathers hands are so burned and now has a scar on his face from the burning tree top.  Somewhere out of no where vera's father was able to rescue her mother but burned his hands so bad he will never use his bow ever again.  Mother may or may not be able to walk again.
