The Antiquities Session 20: Mine Cart Travel into Yeti Caves!
General Summary
Martius 25th
After the party met the Oracle, they descended deeper into a cave opening. They reached a point where a river was flowing. They froze it solid with the aid of some spells from Leront. The spells made pushing the ore carts easier across the now frozen river. Nak said that he was going to scout ahead with Leront.
As they traveled further and deeper into the cave, they came across a couple of yeti tykes. As well as, some yeti tykes from a southern cave that came up and converged on the party. These tykes had a wonderful interaction of wanting to get some food from Arnold. However once a few yeti tykes started scratching Arnold. He took off to the air with his magical boots and started to defend himself from the yeti tyke. The party started to get frisked by the yeti tykes. Leront ended up putting one to sleep and when the adult yeti came to investigate. They notice that there was an unconscious tyke and what appeared their other tykes were attacking. The adult yetis started to attack in defense in response to what they saw. The fighting looked bleak for the adult yeti. There remained one adult yeti and a tyke that bellowed for aid from the Alpha Yeti. The Alpha Yeti ended up causing a cave-in at the path that leads out for the mineshaft. Now the route that the party was to travel with the mine carts was blocked. The alpha yeti then headed back towards an alternate path to flank maneuver to defend his family. Nak and Leront knew this was possible so they went back to defend their comrades. They left Arnold to follow.
However, Arnold decided that he was going to attack the retreating yetis that called for help. He ended up killing the Yeti and the tyke that was with it. Nak, Leront, Heidi, Tinika, and Sir Parendor all made it to the where the Alpha Yeti was flanking. Some were looking at chests of ancient goods. Others in the process of fighting mimics and fending for their life with the Alpha Yeti.
While his comrades were defending themselves against the Alpha Yeti, Arnold took his time returning to the party. As he ended up doing the darkest deed of all in his life and existence. He killed all the restrained yeti tykes. The party had restrained them before his slaughter. The tykes weren't a threat anymore. They were intentionally left restrained so they could live.
After everything, only one Yeti tyke was left alive. Arnold arrived on the scene as all his comrades were being brutally beaten by the Alpha Yeti. The Alpha Yeti made a last attempt to defend his home and family and ended up knocking unconscious Tinika, and Luther. Arnold in a rush grabbed a healing glitter bomb and it saved his fallen comrades. He then watched as the Alpha Yeti was killed by Sir Parendor.
After the fight ended and being healed Tinika head back to her construct Emmitt and she noticed the slaughter that Arnold had left. She curled up next to Emmitt and remembered the time that her Goblin family was slaughtered in the sewers of Mount Roma and relived the trauma once again.
