Norbourg Caverns

The Norbourg Caverns are full of sulfer based vapors. These vapors will trigger psychic like visions for those that venture deap within them. The sulfer based vapors come from magma vents that lead to the Heart of Stendaaris magma chamber. It is belived that the crystals that form the Norbourg Peaks came from the calcification of the sulfer vapors. However due to the extreme heats and the psychic breaks that occur creatures tend to only travel into these caverns when apsolutely need to. This is partially due to long exposure to the fumes can leave a creature in a psychi break that places them into a deep illusionary trance and they wonder aimlessly deeper and deeper into the caverns until they are lost.
The shamans of the Squamata Nomads will meditate in these caverns. They belive that the Mystic Mother gives them images for next season. They will take this back and run their tribe according to the images they have seen. This has led to some interesting interactions amoung the tribes. The one time there was a vision of war it almost led to the extintsion of the entire civilations that make up the Squamata Nomads. Eversince this event the various cheiftins would report their visions and compare prior to seeking war or anilation of other tribes or creatures.
Some scholars belive that these vapors are reminates of the great evil that the Squamata Nomads believe they vanquished under the Forn'Andigos Mountains. As similar vapors seem to seep into the Forn'Andigos Underdark.
