Axel Nightfall Greywing

Axel Greywing Nightfall

Prologue     Long ago, in the kingdom of Shiro Cantine, lived a beautiful high elf samurai named Ava Nexus. She was one of the Waynko family's most prized, up and coming Samurai. The way she wielded her personally crafted blade, the lone warrior, was a sight to be seen. There were stories told about her being able to slice orcs clean in half with a single slice and even crazier rumors going around that she had sliced a black dragon to bits without even unsheathing her sword. Even though, Ava had everything she could ever possibly want; fame, fortune, male suitors as far as the eye could see. There was one thing she wanted more than anything in the world: true love. Her family thought she was crazy, saying things like:     '"What do you mean? Thousands are willing to pledge their love to you, Ava."'     But they didn't understand, she knew all those men didn't want her, she was aware most of them feared her power, but they wanted the wealth and status that came with the Nexus family. So, every so often, she would sneak out and venture into the world a bit; usually going vast far distances knowing her family would come to try to grab her up and bring her home once again. But, this time though, the outcome of her sneaking away would surprise, even her. So, after getting about a week's travel away from her kingdom, she was ambushed by a group of marauding bandits. Usually, Ava could handle herself, even without her blade; but this group had caught her off guard. As a large group appeared in front of her, she missed the warlocks who were hiding behind. These warlocks cast a spell, sending vines shooting from the ground wrapping and pinning Ava. The main druid bandit stepped forward and said,     " Oh, Miss Ava, you're gonna catch a high price from the Waynco kingdom. Surely they will pay any price for their most prized fighter." At that moment, all anyone heard was the strum of a guitar. The Druid noticed that all the warlocks were unconscious. A brave, bellowing voice came from the tree:     "You dare harm an innocent woman!"     A human jumped down, plopping right in front of the Druid and Ava. He then said,     "I don't care about whatever this Waynko stuff is, but as long as the greatest bard to ever live is here, there will be no kidnapping." The druid laughed hysterically,     "What is a bard going to do to stop all of us?"     Jaxon smiled as he strummed away on his guitar, immediately all the bandits start dance fighting each other, till every last one was unconscious. Jaxon turned around to speak to the woman, as he came closer, and with each step, he noticed how beautiful she truly was under her cloak.     He said " I don't usually ask this to the people I saved, but would you like to come with me to this nearby pub? It's a quiet place, but they serve the sweetest ale you've ever tasted."     She smiled and said "Okay." They got to this little pub in the middle of the forest, there were about 3 patrons inside as well as a bartender.     The bartender saw Jaxon and smiled, "Hey! I thought you said you'd never bring a lady to this secret spot! 'Artistic concentration and muse search' is what you called it, I think.", as he laughed.     Jaxon just smiled, which stopped the bartender's laughter and said, "I don't think I will ever have a muse problem ever again." Ava appeared surprised as they head over to the corner booth and order two honey ales.     Ava looked at Jaxon while sipping her ale and say, "What did you mean when you said that you'll never have trouble finding your muse?" He just smiled at her and said "I've already found her."     She blushed, "But you don't even know me, my family, where I come from, anything at all."   He laughed and asked her "Do you know what it truly means to be a bard?"   Stunned, she replied, "Well, to play beautiful music and cast powerful spells, I presume."   His smile faded " No, that's not it at all what it means. A true bardsman is someone who can peer into the souls of those he encounters and play a melody that sounds as if it came straight from the person's soul itself and when I see your soul a see a pure-hearted girl whos only want in life is to be happy."   Ava smiled but realized that tears were pouring down her face, her heart pounding as if he had just read the diary of her being. She smiled and kissed Jaxon followed by her whispering "I never want to be apart from you ever again."   The next day she told him, "I will be back in four days, be ready to go then."    He smiled and waved as she dashed home to retrieve her possessions.    As Ava walked into the house, her parents, brothers, and sisters were looking at her in amazement. Her mother rose from her seat and asked why she had finally come back on her own.   Ava told them, it had finally happened, she had fallen in love. Everyone smiled in cheer as her father asked, " So, when am I going to meet this young Elven man who has finally stolen my daughter's heart."   Ava told them of a young human bardsman with beautiful magic and an amazing soul. Her family was mortified.   Her father screamed in anger, "YOU DARE TARNISH MY ELVEN BLOOD WITH A HUMAN AND A BARDSMAN NO LESS! YOU MAY AS WELL MARRY THE DOG WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!"     Tears flowed down her face as she dashed to her room and locked the door. She grabbed a backpack, threw a couple of sacks of gold in, grabbed a few outfits and her sword and sliced her way out the window, bolted into the forest while alarms were screaming and bells were ringing.     Meanwhile, Jaxon was waiting outside the pub: "It's been four days since that beautiful vixen left, and I haven't been able to come up with anything new since " He looked to the bartender, who was outside, sitting in a chair. "If you two are as in love as you say you are, I'm sure she'll be here soon. But knowing you, you'll find some way to screw it up."     Right as the bartender was about to laugh, the sound of rampaging horses swallowed the forest. Jaxon sees Ava as she quickly rode up, screaming: "Jaxon, we need to go now, I'll explain later!" as she pulled him up, the bartender saw the horde of horses with armed Elven guards.     "What have you gotten yourself into now, Jaxon?" Jaxon smiled and said, "Possibly the most exciting adventure of my life!" as they rode off quickly.     As they rounded a corner onto the path, Ava threw herself and Jaxon off the horse, while casting an illusion of themselves on the horse running off. They hid in the deep brush as the guards charged by chasing after the horse with the illusion.     They headed down the hillside, as they came across a small port with a ship set to go to a whole new continent. Once they arrived in their new homeland, they quickly found a quaint little village to settle down. Nearly a year later, they gave birth to their son, Axel Nightfall Greywing.               Childhood years 1 -10 Growing up in the small town of Taurine was a quiet relaxing life for Axel Greywing. The town was always filled with smiling faces and the scent of fresh-baked bread. Galvin the Tabaxi Baker greeted him every day, as his father walked him to school. His father was always in such good spirits; singing, dancing, playing his guitar, and blowing kisses to all the women in town, he was always just happy and Axel wondered why, but ignored that thought every day and just went to school.     Going to school wasn't so bad, the work was boring cause it was way too easy for Axel; which only bothered him more because everyone would always mock him, saying that his Elven heritage was showing. Taurine, although a very diverse town, had no Elves; other than Axel's mother and Axel himself being a Half-Elf.     He had been told many times over the years by peers, adults, and others that the only reason we get to live in this town, was that his father was on good terms with the town council. Four of the five elders adored Jaxon, but one always said he knew one day that his family would cause trouble.   Axel was fortunate in his schooling days to have found two companions: Zuko, a Black Raven(Arakrokra), who was loved by all the girls and despised by the boys. Axel had been extremely surprised that someone of Zuko's social status would befriend him, let alone would become one of his best friends. It wouldn't be known until a few years into their friendship that he informed Axel that the reason he was able to see past his race so easily was the same reason the town let us stay.   Axel's father was able to use his Bardic magic to heal Zuko's mother of a terrible, fatal disease. Axel's other friend was Ichiro Orichi, the Lion born Tabaxi. He and Ichiro got along great because he was also an outcast. One would think being the strongest boy in class also meant being the most popular.    Unfortunately, instead of popularity, Ichiro was ostracised and viewed by disdain and fear. A fact of which Axel viewed as ironic because if anyone would have taken the time to get to know Ichiro they would have found out that he possessed a tender heart full of kindness.     Axel had only seen Ichiro become enraged when they were young. A group of kids was ganging up on Axel; ordinarily, Zuko would have been there to keep their comments at bay, but that day he was out sick with bird flu. So the group of kids started attacking Axel with reckless abandon, kicking him to the point where he was about to pass out, begging for death. But then he saw a red blur, he realized it was Ichiro's mane and when he fully opened his eyes; Axel saw Ichiro was choking two kids mid-air. Axel would never forget what the LionTabaxi said after unleashing a mighty roar: "If anyone dares hurt my friends or the innocent, they'll answer to me and as long as there is the wind in my chest, I will stop them!" Axel wished he could have immortalized that event in his memory with his gaze, but the pain from his injuries overcame him and he fell unconscious.      Zuko and Ichiro had taught Axel a great deal over the years; we talked, played, and adventured around town. It gave Axel hope and made him think,   '" If people can coexist, without hatred, that's a world I would strive to live in."'     When Axel was nine years old, he felt it was time to ask his parents about their views in life. So, finally, on one of the walks to school, he asked his father:   "Why are you a bard?"   Jaxon looked to his son in a mild confusion for a moment, but then he smiled:   "Son, I am a bard because I love to bring happiness to others, whether through music, stories and occasionally flirting." Jaxon laughed and nudged Axel's arm as he continued,   "Before I had met your mother, I was a great adventurer. I traveled the world; in search of adventure, women, and riches. Groups would clamor to have me as a party member, whether for my magic or my reputation of causing fantastic situations. It never mattered where I went, I just loved to see everyone smiling and for every face, I changed from that of sadness and despair into a smile. Well, son, it made me feel like I was changing the world." Jaxon smiled the largest smile, " I hope that answers your question"   Axel immediately yells at him, " Well, if you were making the world a better place, then why did you stop?"   Jaxon's smile went down to a grin for a second but then back to a smile, "Well, that's easy son. I fell in love with your mother. I know that sounds quite selfish, but I couldn't lose my soulmate, son. That's why I hope you can find your way to complete my mission."   Axel stood still and just looked up at his father. "I don't know if I'm strong enough, Father."   He just laughed before saying, "Don't worry, I'll just have to keep my eye on you 'til you're big and strong."     Later that evening, Axel and Ava continued sword training, while Jaxon was making money at the pubs.   As the two were practicing their forms; Axel stopped, looked up at his mother, and asked, "Why are you a samurai, Mother?"   She looked at her son with a saddened look upon her face. She exhaled deeply before she spoke, "Axel, my family doesn't approve of any of us." Immediately, Axel replied,   "But why we've never done anything to them, Mother."   This truly caught Axel off guard, for Mother never spoke of her family.   "Axel, my family is strong in many different ways, so when you ask why I'm a samurai. Well, it's because I have to be strong enough, in case the day ever does comes that my family was to find us."   Axel immediately started crying, before screaming,   "Well then, I'm gonna have to become stronger too, Mother!"   She smirked, "Don't worry, son, I believe you'll be something special one day."   10 years to present Over the next ten years, life was peaceful during the day. Jaxon would teach his son the ways of becoming a true-hearted bardsman, and during the evening, Ava would teach Axel the art of magic and the way of the samurai. But, this peace was, unfortunately, not meant to live forever.   It was a beautiful afternoon, Ava was picking flowers in the garden, while Jaxon and Axel were sitting on the porch. At that moment, a bolt action arrow pierced through her chest from behind. She coughed up blood, then looked to her husband and son, before turning to stone and exploding. Jaxon grabbed his son and raced to the house, grabbing his now-deceased wife's katana and his guitar. The bardsman, with his son in his arms, ran out the front door and got halfway down the street before they were surrounded by Elven guards and a larger woman, who was claiming Ava was her sister.   She yelled and said, "Whoever can kill that half-blood twerp and this human scum first will get 100,00 gold."   Before Jaxon could finish putting Axel down and pulling out his guitar, an arrow struck him in the chest Jaxon fell to his knees looked at his son, and said: "I love you, Axel" as he turned to dust before his son's very eyes. All the elves were laughing at the pain of the half-blood. The sister chimed up, " That's what your scum family, as well as my scum sister, get for betraying the Elven ways."   Axel stood up with his mother's katana on his hip and his father's guitar on his back. The sister laughed   "What's a pipsqueak like you going to do?"   Axel lifts his head his eyes glowing pure white before anyone can say anything, he disappeared for a moment and reappeared behind the woman on the horse. Axel was holding the katana, barely a centimeter out of the sheath. He closed it, instantaneously the woman and horse both fall in half. Immediately afterward, a torrential thunderstorm started.   The guards were struck with awe and fear in equal measure, and before any of them were able to scream commands, Axel laid down a vicious strum across his father's guitar. The Bardic power, which in turn, exploded each and every guard in the most brutal, painful way possible. He fell to his knees, tears flowing out of his bright glowing eyes as he tried to comprehend everything that just transpired.   His body felt weak as if he was about to pass out, but a voice in the back of his mind screamed for him to run. He ran deep into the forest and didn't stop for weeks of straight running, Axel finally started to slow down and was eventually hobbling his way forward. A man appeared in front of him and before the stranger could even exchange a greeting, Axel threw a powerful punch at the man, sending an immense amount of energy with it as it struck the man.    Immediately after, Axel fell unconscious. When Axel awoke, it appeared to be evening. The man who he had punched was propped up, right next to a warm fire, completely unharmed. The man noticed Axel was awake and said: "Oh hey, you're awake! Would you come to join me? We're having ramen."   Too hungry to disagree, Axel joined the stranger and ate about ten bowls of ramen.   The man laughed and said, "You remind me of a young boy from my village who never could get enough ramen!" the stranger continued to laugh.   Axel finally had the strength to speak and spouted a flurry of questions to this kind stranger. "Who are you? Why are you helping me? also, how are you unharmed from my attack?"   "Woah, Woah young man! That's a lot of questions! Let's start from the top, I am Jiraiya the Gallant. I'm helping you because you looked like you needed help, especially considering you just slept for half a week."   Axel was stupified, "HALF A WEEK! "   "Yup, and the reason you didn't harm me is that I blocked your power with my hand. Although, I was impressed you were able to do it seeing as you were way too weak to be able to exert yourself like that."   The two continued to talk for many hours until Axel eventually told Jiraiya everything that had happened prior. But when Axel looked up, Jiraiya didn't look sad, instead, he smiled and said   "How would you like to come with me for a few years; train, get strong, and be able to survive life." Axel was overcome with tears of joy and embraced him.   For the next six years, the duo traveled the world, saw many creatures, partook in many cultures and dishes as well as the occasional feminine dalliance. Jiraya had odd fighting styles and techniques that Axel had never seen before. That was because there were never any monks that came through Axel's village and the only other person he knew with fighting experience was his mother.   Jiraiya had mentioned he'd been trained in a special style developed by frog people. The idea of frog monks always made Axel laugh and put a soured look on Jiraiya's face.   Axel trained with purpose and would not stop until he fully understood what it means to be a hero. Jiraiya taught him how to be one with himself and not let his emotions take advantage of him. Axel was often forgetful, but Jiraiya told him whenever Axel got frustrated and tired, his eyes would go white again and he would go on a semi destructive rampage.   Thankfully, Jiraiya was always powerful enough to stop Axel, but Axel still had nightmares about this power. It always started out as a dream, with Axel being in full control of those powers and able to stop all forms of evil, but then he would lose all control and would wake up from his dream, screaming.   One day, he asked Jiraiya about revenge. Before the young man could even finish the question, Jiraiya slapped him with the back of his hand. Axel was stunned, for the monk had never laid a fist on the young man, outside of training.   "Axel, never consider revenge. It is nothing, but a dark path that only the evil tread. You should never kill because you want to, you should only kill because there is no other option."   Those words impacted Axel deeply, he still couldn't decide how he felt about it. but it did provide clarity of mind. Axel kept thinking of those who killed his family; all over such a petty thing as races. All the internalized feelings of injustice in the world drove him crazy, but Jiraiya often told stories of the future and how they could all live in a world of peace. Axel didn't think it to be possible, but it wasn't a bad goal. The day finally came when Axel turned 16. "Axel, you've grown into a fine young man and you have been an excellent student, but I must go,"   Tears streamed down Axel's face, "Thank you for everything, Jiraiya. I don't know how I can ever thank you for what you've done for me."   The monk smiled and said,   "That's simple; be a great samurai, a fantastic bardsman, and discover what being a true hero really means to you."   He left and waved goodbye. Over the next few years, Axel traveled the land, occasionally preformed, and enjoyed life. Every few years, he'd see Jiraiya. The two would dine, check out some women, and spar to see how far we've come. However, the last time Axel saw his mentor, he looked distraught. Jiraiya had said that he was headed to a village where it always rains. Axel hoped to see him again soon.     Axel became an undercover agent in a guild of less than honorable intentions, he joined because he had received word that there were still members of his mother's family who were still after him, one of which had her hand in this particular evil organization. And thus, Axel Greywing joined the group known as 'The Misfits', in order to learn more. Unfortunately, their journey started out rough, and Axel initially didn't think very highly of these strange people he had allied himself with. He made an enemy of a half-elven woman named Tiffa Brooke, who had the attitude of an ill-tempered child and exemplary skills in archery.   Enemies: The Nexus family: Grandfather: Ryo Nexus(Also known as Kardun)(Dead) Grandmother: Tanulia Nexus(Archfey killed a god that caused Natrine's ascension, she is also Dead) Aunt: Saria Nexus (Deceased) cause Axel in backstory Aunt: Amra Nexus-Venqen Uncle in law: Onas Venqen Aunt Kaylin Nexus (Widowed/Barren so to believed)(Married Braden Saundersfoot)(Both are Dead) Aunt: Erika Nexus (New best samurai of Nexus Clan) Uncle: Haldir Nexus (Bard/Philanthropist disowned) Uncle: Drannor Nexus (Leader of Nexus clan armies) Aunt: Zentha Nexus (Ava's only sibling ally but ran away the moment she heard of her older sister's death)(Was turned to a Vampire still on the loose) Aunt : Gaylia Nexus (The runt)(Dead) Insane Jester Possie Tiffa Brooke   Allies: Jiraiya the Gallant Bardsman across the lands Many town folk Naruto Uzimaki Silvia 16AC Natrine 16Ac   Epilogue Silva and Axel     After the events with defeating Axel’s grandmother and Natrine becoming the god of nature. Silva started searching for her brother, Titianius Sung, on the island. The group found his corpse and next to his corpse there was a white dire wolf. The Dire wolf was alive but heavily injured. They found out he was alive and healed him up.   They headed back to the mainland, Axel resurrected Rizo and/or Titianus Sung. Once Rizo saw that everything was back to the way it should be, he stuck around to enjoy the festivities of the upcoming wedding so that he knew once and for all, that his vision of peace had come true. Once that truth had been realized, he went out into Renstrom for another decade or so helping the innocents before finally settling down in the Everdine Forest, where he built the 'Dojo of the Astral Fist', teaching anyone he saw worthy of being heroes.   Silva, Axel, and Titianius make their way back to 'The Drunken Swordsman'. While, on the way, Silva and Titianius bonded and healed up some past wounds. Once they arrived at 'The Drunk Swordsman', they saw it was taken over by Daisy and the other dragons. Silva and Axel were glad that the tavern was in capable hands. Silva and Axel start the wedding preparations in Bayshore. After the wedding, Silva, Axel, and Titianius started traveling around Renstrom. Earning mass amounts of wealth, and making a name for themselves as the greatest bards in all of Renstrom.   After years of this, Axel and Silva decided they wanted to settle down and make a huge family, as neither of them got to enjoy having a loving family for in their lives. They saved up a large portion of their wealth, to purchase an even more magnificent tavern which they once again named 'The Drunken Swordsman' in Chazu. It was silly, but after so long and so much hardship, the original 'Drunken Swordsman' was where Axel had truly realized he was in love with Silva. He reminisced on the tears that poured from his face as he begged Chaim to heal the wounds she had suffered at the hands of monsters. After Silva and Axel finally got settled, all of the romantic tension that had built up over the years of saving Renstrom. They finally got the chance to completely let their passion for each other explode. Landing them with nine beautiful children. It was a handful to raise such a wild mixture of children, but Axel and Silva finally felt at peace knowing that thanks to their actions, the world of Renstrom would be a safe place for their children to grow up.   Axel received a vision from both Bahamut and the Goddess Magic Lady. They both beseeched Axel for his aid to resolve the other worlds’ magic issues. Axel asked Vitin to help construct a portal to travel through the Astral Sea so he could travel through worlds. When he awoke from his vision dream with Bahamut and Goddess Magic Lady, he found a key in his hand. The Key that could magically teleport him to any of the other worlds, but only the worlds that need help.   After a few years since Axel took the job as an 'Enforcer of Justice Between Planes and Dimensions', Silva noticed that Axel didn’t age. She asked him about this and found out that it is a side effect of constantly traversing between worlds, thus making him immortal. Distraught by the news, and the possibility of Axel watching his family die again. She formed a plan. When Axel left to do his duty once more, she put her plan into action. She suited up in her old armor and brought out her scimitars, she readied herself and steeled her resolve. She asked her brother to watch the children while she was gone. Once she was far away enough, she opened a Dimensional Door to the Nine Hells. She went straight to Asmodeus and asked if she could take Levistus’ place as Arch Devil.   Children of Axel and Silvia Greywing: Goldia Greywing Female, Age 16 (Asimar)(has pure platinum hair. has wings https://www.artstation.com/artwork/w8YoZY)   Rose / Jason Greywing The twins Male and Female age 14 (Rose Human https://www.artstation.com/artwork/QzQN3d    https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Vdz3XN, Jason Elf)   Jasper Greywing Male age 13 (Tiefling)(shows signs of Silva's Blue Dragon Breath ability and Silva no longer have it.
