Jadi'Val The Spire of The Aether

The Shining Spire

"Looking upon the spire, one may have thought at one point that it had simply sprouted out of the ground, the edge of its glimmering lavender surface sprouting out fo the ground as if it had been planted there. The impression in the surrounding field told a much different story, for It sprouted from a wide indent in the land. Around its mass new flora grew on top of the corpses of shattered trunks and burnt foliage. The spire Indeed was another gift sent down by the gods, and from it, an aura of magic bled that was palpable to even the uninitiated. This will spring forth a new renaissance of magic."
~Prophet Hun'Hoaris Moltian (200 years ago)

Architecture

At the centre of the forest in a clearing is the Temple of Jadi'val is a large circular barrier of trees with only one archway of a gate. It is bordered by a golden effigy of the Sphere of gods. The divine council symbolizing the major gods that the Motif faith believed in. The road which was bordered with large overgrown with vines and trees, and strange writhing plants that squirmed and prodded at visitors, though they never actually reached into the walkway. The grass and foliage were all torn out and replaced with polished pebbles all maintained by the Guru's and their acolytes.   The Temple Jadi'val is a strange structure, due to the shrine being built around the spire. A large lavender helical cone protruded from the ground. The ground around the is a bowl-like indent, remnants of what had once been an impact crater. The temple is a dome, a simple round semisphere of polished black marble which surrounds the base of the spire. The path towards the entrance a bridge of large stones raised from the bottom of the crater to allow people to enter without waking down the slope. Surrounding the dome; are wells, and gardens, and small open ovens to cook food, all embroidered with the same black marble which adorned the rest of the shrine.

History

History of the Gods:

Unknown to the mortals who praised the Spire, what they thought was a gift was really the corpse of a minor god. Gali the VIolet Warlord was betrayed, by the lesser spirits he kept at his command and was cast down from the Aether. As his body hit the Great Divide, the souls of the barrier stripped his godly form leaving behind nothing but a spire of concentrated magic.

History as known to the Moltis:

  • 500 yrs to Present; The Spire plummets from the Aether and lands in the middle of the forest.
  • 200 yrs to Present; Prophet Hun'Hoaris first Identifies the potential of the spire for the Moltis Clergy
  • 175 Years to Present; The construction of the shrine, bridge and other living quarters around the spire have been constructed
  • 100 Years to Present; Hun'Unil records the new practice of endowing those with an affinity to magical energy with the magic from the spire, allowing the Moltis to train more clergy members
  • 90 Years to present; The Order of Gods Hand is implemented, with the goal of gaining all control of artifacts and keeping them at Jadi'Val
  • 50 Years to Present; A curse apparently cast by the Recreant Ones (Bauretitians)that caused the death and/or magical possession of all clergy members nearby. No artifacts could be recovered by the Moltis and their aligned kingdoms, severely weakening the military power of the Moltis aligned Nations
