Ruby is aggressive, manipulative and deceitful. She has a rather black sense of humor. For example, after finding out how one Demon slaughtered eight nuns at a Convent, she quipped, "What's black and white and red all over?" and smirked when chastised for it.
She insists that she is different from other Demons in the sense that she remembers being human although she wishes she didn't, and that these feelings compels her to want to defend humanity.
Although she will aid hunters, she does not always present herself as an accommodating ally. She will frequently insult or belittle the hunters. She will confess that she remembers living "back when the Plague was big" and that Hell was not being able to remember who you used to be. She is impatient and ill-tempered when her suggestions are not used.
Overtime, her personality will shift to being less sassy and overtly bad-ass, she will work more in the background. She will also gradually grow fond of the hunters, so far as to seduce one and have sex with him.
Ruby fears Angels because she believes they would smite her in an instant. Should the hunters be very well acquainted with an Angel to the point of regular or semi-regular visits, she will spend less time with the hunters because she doesn't want to risk encountering any Angel. However, despite this, she is even more frightened of Alastair who calls her "a devious, cowardly little slut." Regardless, she will prove herself to be quite devoted to her cause.
