Demons

Demons are created from the souls of humans condemned to Hell . They retain a semblance of their individual personalities, but are otherwise transformed into elemental creatures of pure evil. They have no pity, grant no mercy, and delight in causing pain and misery. They possess no form of their own, existing rather as dark energy that manifests itself as a black smoke-like substance. In order to operate in the physical realm, they must forcibly possess the body of human hosts.
Demons are more complicated than most lore makes them out to be. They have their own agendas and are as likely to betray each other as they are to attempt to ensnare human souls. Their main motivation is to increase their power and position in the demonic hierarchy, in hope of obtaining the ultimate prize: become the ruler of Hell.
