The Imperial Kings Guard
The Imperial Kings Guard are the most elite Soldiers, Knight Officers, and Arcanists from throughout the Imperial Military. Their service having been proven and given recognition, the only further honor can be to join the ranks of the Empires most powerful force.
Composition
Manpower
The Imperial Kings Guard consists of anywhere between 40-150 of the Empires most experienced and renowned soldiers. The legendary Knight Officers and the most proven soldiers work to anticipate and prevent any attacks that may come.
Equipment
Imperial Kings Guard armor consists of a full plate of Infused Plate and Infused Chainmail. The armor is custom formed for each member and is designed to reduce weight and enhance mobility. Medics and Arcanists receive increased supplies of their needed materials.
Weaponry
Each Infantry member is issued a spear, short sword, and shield. Archers are issued a bow, dagger, and shield. Arcanists and Medics are issued a short sword and shield. Calvary are issued a spear, short sword, and shield.
Structure
Four squads of soldiers report to one commander, the Captain, and they report to a Single Brigandine Major.
Tactics
The Imperial Kings Guard are soldiers dedicated to succeeding in situations others would consider impossible. Each soldier is a decorated warrior with a specialty in various sects of combat, but the sum of parts creates squads of specialties.
Training
Imperial Kings Guard are soldiers and Knight Officers so their training is largely completed, but acceptance into the guard places the recruit into a week long program to determine abilities. The program is overseen by the Brigandine Major.
Logistics
Logistical Support
The Imperial Kings Guard are given aid and support from the workers of the Castle. On traveling a group of nearly equal soldiers are recruited to act as a distant supply train.
Auxilia
Imperial Arcanist Destroyers are Arcanists with a talent for the more physical and destructive arts. They are often in proximity of the Imperial King and are under the direct control of the Imperial King, but in situations of danger can be called in to assist the Imperial Kings Guard.
Recruitment
Soldiers, Knight Officers, Medics, and Arcanists who have been recorded having performing numerous acts of bravery and service are brought before the Brigandine Major on the occasions that they cross paths. Should the Individual be someone who has caught the eye of the Brigandine Major, they are brought to the Imperial Capital and put through the training process.
History
Elysian The First originally had a retinue of highly decorated soldiers and attendants, but his descendants began to have less and less use for them. Viltran was the Imperial King who brought the service back into a more regulated and important role. Viltran also elevated the positions of the members stationed to the unit.
Historical loyalties
The Imperial Kings Guard have always been loyal to the Crown and rank, they are supposed to remain neutral during the times of exchange between Royal heads.
