Purpose / Function
The Abbey was founded by the Goddess of Light after the first Campaign by her huband, Imperial King Elysian The First, after the successful capture of the "Royal Family" of the most prominent Desert Tribe at the time. The stated desire of the Abbey is to welcome any and all that step within its doors, and heal them in both body and soul. Often returning soldiers in the poorer sections of the city or its common citizens would visit to recieve free care. Most were unaware of the Divine nature of the Abbeys founding until the eventual death of the Goddess.
Alterations
The original "Abbey of Light" was founded in Bismuthforge to aid its citizens and returnings soldiers after the campaigns in the desert. During the revolts surrounding the Fall of Imperial King Viltran the Abbey was burned to send a message of control to the people of the city. The frame of the Abbey was made of stone and as such survived much of the damage. During the following Imperial Kings' reign it was rebuilt and increased in size, additonal Abbeys were consturcted near the Defensive Keeps located along the outskirts of the Desert with the intention to treat any and all wounded.
