Royal Highway
The Royal Highway is considered one of the Modern Wonders of Hindland.
It is a white stone highway that spans the southern and northern reaches of Hindland. It features elaborate carvings, though they have been worn down over the years.
The construction of the Royal Highway spanned several generations, and was a project initiated and completed by the MaxMarcus royal family.
The Royal Highway ends at the former site of the Great Bridge, overlooking Holy Hill.
The road is lined with torches, which used to be maintained under the rule of King MaxMarcus VI, making travel at nighttime safer.
The road, which required upkeep, is no longer a contiguous highway, but has been maintained in some stretches.

Disuse and Repurpose
The Royal Highway was in its early days, a stunning sight to behold. It was said on certain days, because of its reflective nature, it could be blinding to behold. Urban legends said that most undead would be instantly destroyed by simply setting foot on the road during daylight hours. After the fall of King MaxMarcus VI, the road fell into disrepair. After the rise of The Contingency, the oppressive organization took over security of the road, harassing and shaking down passersby for money. After a slave revolt in 996 P.L., the road was used by escaped dwarven slaves and other refugees fleeing the northern end of Hindland to escape the rule of The Contingency.
