While most other nations are in the doldrums of their version of the middle ages, Rotterdam is more of a Renaissance era nation. Additionally, it has seen many technological and magical advancements, incorporating what could be called steampunk level technologies into its society.
Rotterdam is a wealthy nation, though one of economic disparity. It is technically a democracy, but corruption and wealth rules behind the facade.
Rotterdam uses its wealth, technological, military and geopolitical advantages to exert influence over the other nations of Midland.

A Comfortable Climate

Hindland is a large nation, and spans different climates and environments. It features grasslands, plains, mountain ranges and deserts, though it is of a relatively temperate climate.
