Realm 11: World War Lovecraft
The world of Realm 11 is comprised of one large, Pangea-like continent known as Vladence.
The world is similar to Europe and the United States of America during the 1910s. The entire continent is consumed by the Great War, a World War I like conflict involving trench warfare.
The continent is divided up into two geopolitical entities: the Alliance for New Age Legionnaries, the western power, and the Federation for Union of Departed States, occupying the eastern part of the continent.
Vladence if more or less bissected down the middle along the border between these two nations. Twisted miles of trenches line the contested border, with a brutal no-man's land between them.
The border does shift in either direction over time, though for years the war has been at an effective stalemate.
The land of Vladence sees firearms and other machinery and weapons of the World War I era dominate the battlefront. The world once had a population of magic users, but they were all conscripted in the early days of the war, and magic, or at least the use of it, has effectively died in this realm.
While racial languages exist (dwaven, elvish, etc.) there are two distinct forms of "common" language unique to the Alliance for New Age Legionnaries and the Federation for Union of Departed States.
Areas far from the front lines may remain physically untouched by the violence of the war, but the conflict has drained the resources and lifeblood from both countrysides.
