Made up of mostly Hindlander citizens, the rebellion was influenced by outside forces. Despite its benevolent rule and a relative period of prosperity, the royal family was overthrown and executed at the hands of the mob.

The Conflict

Outcome

With the razing of Castle MaxMarcus, The Contingency solidified their rule of Hindland through their homegrown enforcers known as the Plaidshirts.

Aftermath

Hindland descended into an era of turmoil. Plaidshirts ruled as local mob enforcers, harassing the populace, enriching themselves, and doling out their own form of justice.   External enemies encroached on the weakened Hindland, including the orcs of Narg and the lizardfolk of The Great Nest.   Balkanized resistance groups formed throughout the nation, each with their own goal of overthrowing the forces of The Contingency, but little else in common.   Several years after the death of King MaxMarcus VI, a secret heir to the throne was discovered by the Free Peoples of True Hindland. They enacted a plan to sneak the heir to the throne to Holy Hill, in the hopes they would be crowned the new monarch and unite the resistance of Hindland.
