The Third Fishbone War

The Third Fishbone war was a conflict between the 2nd Rotelkon Pact and the Shogunate of Panders against the Kingdom of Deamona and the Slugic Chiefdom. The war began when one of the heads of a major Panderan house began making a move to seaize the title of Shogun for himself, destablizing the region, causing Deamona to invade. This sudden mobilization by Deamona gave Ontangees the excuse they needed to strike back at Deamona for the losses they had handed Ontangees in the 2nd Fishbone War, dragging Dijit and Niccadia into the war and causing the Slugic Chiefdom to join in against them, thus causing this war to be dubbed the 3rd Fishbone War.
The Shogunate of Panders was a mostly insular and feudal society and was caught off guard by the weapons, tactics and brutality of modern war.

The Conflict

Outcome

Ontangees was able to take the town of Chevy, renaming it Neckbeard, and Niccadia was able to seize Cinnamon, while Deamona was able to seize Animu.

Aftermath

Panders would never again hold the city of Animu, and the resentment between the two side even after the armistice was strong, leading inevitably into the 4th Fishbone war. Deamona was also able to seize the Panders river, which contains one of the largest gold deposits in Woodangees. The loss of these mines would cripple Panders for decades and bolster the Kingdom of Deamona.

Legacy

The 3rd Fishbone war is often considered one of the more important wars to have occurred in the days before the unification of Woodangees, many scholars arguing that had this war not solidified the alliance between Niccadia, Dijit, and Ontangees they might not have unified into Woodangees.

In Literature

There have been many plays and dramas written depicting the 3rd Fishbone war, many from the Pandaran side.

Technological Advancement

The Shogunate of Panders was still mostly using swords and bows when the war started, with muskets having just been introduced to them by Niccadian traders, and thus were not fully prepared for modern combat,
