Ker

Ker Kazumi (a.k.a. Ker, the Bloodthirsty)

Ker was born a half-breed of kitsune and elf in the Kazumi Clan Town on Ethor Island. Her parents were treated as outcasts, making life harder for her and forcing her to develop skills outside the normal female vulpine abilities. After 154 years of life, Ker was turned into a vampire by Erendriel Inajyre, where she lives out her life traveling the world and exploring new cultures and creepy dungeons.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Ker has always been slender and small all her life, hence the heels she wears to make up for her lack of height. Her vampirism has given her immense strength and agility while making her remain youthful and gorgeous, which she doesn't focus on too much.

Body Features

She has glowing amber bronze skin with scars trailing down her body in a weave of patterns. A unique ability she has is summoning fox ears atop her head and four kitsune tails, whose coloration is based on the silver fox.

Facial Features

Ker has long, thick black hair with part of it pulled back into a braid. Her once brown eyes are now black irises with white pupils, and the shade of her skin helps her dark freckles appear prominent. There is a black mark on each cheek, a simple tattoo to remind her of the battles she faced growing up in her home village.

Special abilities

Ker has the ability of any vampire, super strength and agility. The more blood she has in her system, the stronger and faster she it. Although, this can affect how fast she can heal as mortal blood is stronger than animal blood. She has the typical darkvision, being able to see up to 120 feet in pitch darkness as if it were daytime. Her super hearing has also become an ally when looking for prey, especially in barren or sparse lands.

Apparel & Accessories

Ker wears dark brown leather armor with a patch of silver fox fur attached to the left shoulder pad. She won't talk about the fur, but she hints that the fur is part of her father's fox pelt from when he shifted into his kitsune form during his final battle with the infernals at the Realm of Nightmares. The armor has bone spikes on the right shoulder pad, symbolizing how dangerous she is. Daggers can be found hidden within the armor for surprise attacks, and they aren't easily seen or felt.

Specialized Equipment

Ker carries a blood dagger with her. It is stashed inside her leather armor as its magickal abilities are quite deadly. The dagger makes blood flow easier, which is useful when hunting or great for killing enemies as the wound doesn't stop bleeding for hours, even when magick healing is applied.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Ker was born to Akira and Ichirou Kazumi on a late winter night. Right as her father was naming her, he was assassinated by an infernal, only speaking out a part of the name he wanted her to have, "Ker". As a way to respect her father's wishes, her mother kept the name Ker, making most of their tribe confused with who she was. Her mother was a member of the Oshi Dorthore, a far-off land filled with magick and mystery, whereas her father was from the Kazumi Clan, home of the wild vulpine. Upon her father's death, her mother used some of his fox fur to make a small patch for Ker to have as she got older; the fur would be a reminder of all things lost and a place to call home.   Ker grew up mostly isolated from her tribe due to her unique circumstantial birth and the strange, pointed ears of an elf. While Ker could access some of her kitsune traits, such as her ears and tails, she could not shift, which made the rest of the Kazumi Clan snub her. She honestly didn't mind as it gave her more time to focus on her mother and taking care of their farm.   154 years would pass before the island was attacked by thieving bandits. Ker managed to hide her mother away and distract the bandits with a few crazy traps she liked building. Little did she know that the head bandit was sneaking up on her throughout all her crazy antics. He struck a fatal wound, nailed her by her hands to a tree, and left her there to die for the clan to find. She remained there for a few hours when a charming man came strolling up to her and offered her a chance at revenge. Ker, spitting out blood, agreed to it and the man ripped the nails from her hands and changed her into a vampire.   She underwent a week of painful agony as her body slowly changed, growing stronger and more graceful. On the last day of the transformation, her sire, Erendriel Inajyre, snapped the neck of a little boy and handed it to her. Ker lost control of her hunger and latched onto the child, feeding as though she had never eaten in her life. The vampirism transformation was now complete, even if Ker was disgusted for killing a child. Erendriel helped her to the docks of Ethor Island, where the bandits were partying after collecting rich bounties from the innocent.   Ker attacked the bandits, letting her frenzy out, tearing them to pieces. When the last body hit the ground, Ker grabbed the head bandit's head and returned to the village, throwing the head at the feet of Satoru Kazumi, the current leader at the time. Satoru, disturbed by Ker's appearance, banished her from the island and called her an "infernal spawn". Ker called him a coward and left, but not without one last visit from her mother, who gave her the fur patch and wished her luck on her travels.   Ker continued traveling with Erendriel, learning the ways of the vampires and practicing her new fighting skills. Each new place they visited awoke something within her; she found herself enjoying travel and meeting new people and creatures. When Erendriel attacked a town during one of their travels, he killed most of the people there. Those who impressed him were turned into vampires. The sight of such visceral carnage caused Ker to leave. She snuck out away from Erendriel as she finally realized his true intentions of wanting an army for himself.   Ker continued traveling, avoiding Erendriel at all costs. A few hundred years went by before she crossed the Abyss of Atichester to get to the Triol Islands. When she reached Asheris, the capital of the islands, she took in the sights. Not even getting the chance to spend a week within the capital, a plague broke out, causing many to get sick with similar symptoms of food poisoning and other illnesses.   Ker remained in the shadows, avoiding the political aspect of the capital until rumors of the king's youngest son, Mergo Pike coming down with the plague. She snuck into the palace and found the prince dying in his bed. She watched his interaction with his family and saw the good in his heart. Unable to let him die, she waited until nightfall and went into his room to turn him. The next day, the news rushed through the kingdom that the prince had "died" during the night. A tribal flaming boat funeral was held for him. As it sent up massive waves of smoke, Ker used another boat hidden by the fire's smoke to get Mergo onto it and they traveled away from the islands.   Three simple years have passed since then...

Education

Ker has educated herself most of her life. Her mother tried to teach her the basics of elven life, but the vulpines pushed Ker into shunning her past until she was turned into a vampire. The more she traveled, the more she found herself delving into her elven heritage to survive the wilderness. Ker continued her travels, looking for the hidden city of the elves. Fifty years passed before she came across Silen Ancalen, the capital city of Oshi Dorthore, the kingdom of elves. She spent the next one hundred years training and learning every method of the elven lore, weaponry, battle technique, and culinary style. This is the place she learned to live off a vegan style of drinking blood.

Employment

Ker works as a rogue with a devilish method. She only takes jobs that require getting her hands dirty and lets her explore a large, complex terrain or building.

Accomplishments & Achievements

The beginnings of Ker's travels as a vampire had her stuck beside Erendriel for decades. It wasn't until she snuck away in the night and went searching for Silen Ancalen that she got to live her life. Before she found Silen Ancalen, she traveled through Haldur's Mines, studying the ancient texts about the infernals and what they wanted with the material plane. She spent weeks reading the texts as she continued her travels, heading northeast until she reached the volcanic region and climbed to the top of Mt. Hexen. While climbing, she helped a researcher with collecting materials of lava and volcanic rock to study and understand how often Mt. Hexen would erupt.   She then traveled west until came across the Shifting Sands and tamed a glittering sandworm and used its strength to carve out pathways for traveling caravans. Most recently, Ker traveled through the Ironet Mists with her young fledgling, Prince Mergo Pike, whom she turned three years.

Morality & Philosophy

Ker has a few strict policies when it comes to being a vampire. She refuses to feed on people and she makes sure to pass that down to her fledgling. Harming children is a big, fat NO. Her first instance as a vampire resulted in the death of a child and it has forever haunted her, not to mention when Erendriel killed children for nameless fun. And because of Erendriel's desire for power, Ker has placed a "no army" rule. Any fledgling she creates will be because they deserve to be rescued and they are good people.

Social

Family Ties

Akira Kazumi: Ker's mother and a wood elf from Silen Ancalen. Ker never returned to the island to say goodbye to her mother after her mother's death.   Erendriel Inajyre: Ker's sire and the one who gave her a new chance at life. After witnessing him kill innocents for fun, Ker grew to instantly hate him and ran away. She hopes to never deal with him again.   Ichirou Kazumi: Ker's father and the only vulpine to truly accept her. While she never got to meet him, she has always wondered if he loves her and is proud of who she became.   Mergo Pike: Mergo is Ker's fledgling. She pretty much adopted him when he was dying and viewed his life as precious. They travel the world together with the hope of finding someplace safe to settle down.

Wealth & Financial state

While Ker may be a rogue, she holds high status among those around her. Other vampires deem her as weak and pathetic, but mortals see her as a threat. And due to her dangerous missions, she has gathered enough coin, or currency, to retire comfortably for the rest of her life.
