Wold

Wold (Known as "World in Elven"), is a planet that lies at the center of the mortal realm of Boreus. Other names for it include Wunnifin in Draconic, Wnulu in Aurorean, and Worldor in Dwarmish. It is the home to the mortal races, and the culimation of many god's work.   It is believed to be mainly created by the Six Creators and Dividine, those being Dividne, Kenella, Helifex, Ilal-Bilendiuer, Appresgal, Aurorea, and Meredian, though it is possible other gods had a small hand in its creation as well, as each culture tells of slightly varying accounts of its creation. The creation of the mortals races begins linear history throughout time in Boreus, and begins the First Era.   Many forces urge for control over Wold, such as the Forsaken Gods, the Twisted Gods, and Kenrhack, though many more organizations and threats remain a threat to controlling all of Wold.   At the center of Wold lies the Fount of Illumination, the most powerful and dense collection of Rhine found throughout creation. It can be considered the core of Wold, and what gives the world its magical elements and life itself. What remains of the god Lassensta is believed to reside there now, watching over the Fount of Illumination.

Geography

Continents

Wold can be divided into seven different continents (previously eight before the dissaperence of Eislana). Those being Archtun, Airgona, Kalasier, the Northernlands, Entalitildor, and the twin continents of Aereth and Untold.

Archtun

The largest and most populated continent on Wold, Archtun is considered the heart of the planet, and is where the four major mortal races reside, those being Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Orks. It is divided into seven different provinces, those being Guilnile, Roscrea, Malatata, Amut, Evermist, M'n'a, and Helkrah.

Airgona

The sister continent to Archtun to the west, Airgona is home to a plethora of races, and is divided into eight different provinces, those being Nighgrisp, the Deak Desert, the Weayr Peninsula, Letwine, Besocra, Nenron, Freyscar, and Reachcrest.

Aereth and Untold

Two continents somewhere far to the northwest of Archtun. They make up the Old Land and is the original birthplace of the Humans. It is now left in solitude ever since the exodous of the Humans.

Entailtildor

A continent far to the northeast of Archtun. It was made soley by Ilal-Bilendiuer and the birthplace of the Elves, but it has since been wracked and dameged by Uyat's invasion into the realm, and most Elves have left the continent.

Kalasier

A more elusive continent to the south of Archtun. It is similar in size to Archtun, and has a horizontal shape to it. it is separated into nine different provinces, those being Vathgon, Ashuran, Cerna, Isitar, the Peaks of Gorge, the Crests of Sorrow, Azon, Fellowind, and Harrador.

Northernlands

Also known as the Borderlands, a mysterious continent to the very farth north of Archtun that makes up Wold's north pole. It is largely uninhabitable due to the frigid temperatures, except a small strip known as the Relon Strip, where some dwell, including the Ice Queen.

Eislana

A mysterious continent that dissapeared off the face of Wold sometime during the First Era. It is unknown where it has gone or its exact location, besides some believing it to once have been north of Entalitildor.

Miscellaneous Lands

Wold is riddled with smaller lands not considered large enough to be continents. These can range from sub-continents or islands that barely make the map.
  • Miz'gan - A sub-continent northwest of Archtun, home to the snow-demons known as the Ulthrank.
  • Black Sail -A sub-continent west of Archtun, home to the exiled Black Sail, and once home to the Ulthrank.
  • Anpistsu -An archipelago somewhere located in the Forgotten Sea, where a deadly intelligent serpent-like species live.
  • Valtul - A subcontinent east of Kalasier that once held a great kingdom, but now is in shadow.
  • Latorah -An island off the western coast of Valtul that holds the peaceful Willaboe, and their godess, the Lady of the Pond
  • Intana -A coral atoll far to the southeast of Archtun. It is the last bastion of dragons within Wold.
  • The Corsair Isles -An archipelago of islands off the coast of Amut, thought to be made from the corpse of the Two-Headed Serpent
  • The Gathleen Isles - A collection of islands between the land of Miz'gan and Guilnile, that is often fought over by the Dwarves and Ulthrank
  • The Nahu'rian Chain -A chain of islands found to the north of Entalitildor, where the Nahu'rians live
  • Vacre - A large island to the south of the Nahu'rian Chain, where there once was a mighty Elven kingdom of heretics, but the domain remains ruined due to their tinkering with the Twisted Realm.
  • Anan -An island off the souther coast of Hel-Krah, where the Boutue have experimented with Atronachs. It is also the homeland of the deadly Hydra.
  • Seria -An island east of Roscrea, home to the banished Serians.
  • Greslalt -A small island between Black Sail and Roscrea, where the land is said to be made of metal and home to a mysterious mad wizard
  • Bard Island -A small island somewhere north of M'n'a, home to colleges dedicated to training bards.
  • The Forgotten Land -A mysterious land somewhere within the Forgotten Sea. Helifex wrapped the corruption of the Old Land and tossed it over the sea, placing it in the Forgotten Land instead.
  • Stonefalls -A collection of islands off the coast of Freyscar. It is home to an intelligent race of rock people.
  • Shroudhall Isles - A collection of many islands that are tropical. It is off the northern coast of Vathgon, and owned by the Darkshell Trading Company.
  • Gnome Island -A sizeable island off the northeast coast of Airgona, where many goofy activities are in play. The vegetation is drastically different from the rest of Airgona, including gysers, mystical forests, and gigantic mushrooms.
  • The Gilded Archipelago -An archipelago south of Entalitildor, where the Sand Elves live and often raid the coasts of Evermist.

Cosmology

Wold has technically three moons around its orbit, but only two are visable, those being Corela and Numre, Corela being at like twice as large as Numre. A third, hidden moon called the "Dark Moon" (sometimes called; "The Forgotten Moon"), lies behind the shadow of Corela, never visable in Wold's night sky. The two moons have siginificant religous influence on Wold and cultures. Particularly, Goblins, Grey Elves, and the Ilea all comprise their belief system on the moons.   There was once a fourth moon in orbit named Drerra, and it was promised to the goddess, Sicersa, the Goddess of Twilight, by Dividine. However, it was stolen by Kenrhack before she could claim the moon. Lassensta, the God of Knowledge, was tricked by Kenrhack to create a vile race he could control on Drerra known as the Exhartics.   The Dark Moon was eventually taken over by the Forgotten Divinity and made to his own will. The Forgotten Divinity would be offered a heretical group of Elves led by Ilal-Bilendiuer's prisce, known as Malthazar. The Forgotten Divinity would take the Elves and Malthazar to the Dark Moon and make them into the Umbral Elves, his personal servents who now walk the Dark Moon.   Wold is believed to be the center of Boreus and the anchor that holds all of reality in place. There are points in Boreus's reality where other realms touch with it, such as Northern Roscrea, where reality slightly bends so it touches the Plafes, Southern Evermist, where reality bends to touch the Twisted Realm, or Hel-Krah, where reality bends and tears and connects the region to some level with Oligorus. It is thought that many small "tears" exist in the blanket of reality which allows each realm to connect to one another in ways.   Wold is thought to have alternate realities of itself, such as the Twisted Realm, which is a realm that is thought to be Wold flipped to its inverse. It is ruled by the Twisted Gods. Some gods have elected to try to recreate Wold within their realms. Sometimes, the fabric of reality is bent just enough where these alternate Wolds clash with the real Wold.   During the Mergence Crisis, the Twisted Gods elected to pull Wold into the Twisted Realm so they may take over Dividine's Eacon. They used areas weak in reality, and areas where the Twisted Realm had been open before to do this.       History The history of Wold can be separated into four different eras spanding over eight thousand years of recorded history. The ideas of eras was first created in the early second era during the Council of of the Competent.
