Tower Of Babel
In Heaven, Everything Is Fine
The Tower Of Babel is a terrorist organization that has plagued all of the realms since before and after The Withering. Named after the biblical incident in which the god Yawheh split the world apart with differing languages, The Tower Of Babel has one goal: The unification of the realms and the destruction of all forces that seek the rule. They are led by the mysterious elf known as Iris Nox; The Ghost Of Terra.
Composed of species from all across the realms, The Tower Of Babel is merciless. They are not afraid to die. They are not afraid of the state of the world after The Withering occured. Infact, they find it to be the perfect place for all of them.
Structure
The Leader
Iris Nox
A GHOST SEEKING FREEDOM, WISHING TO BURN THE REMAINS OF THE WORLD
Iris Nox is the leader of The Tower Of Babel.
Role
Iris leads and organizes the rest of the Tower Of Babel. She determines the best places to strike when it comes down to bringing down their targets, and enstills fear into those beneath her to ensure that they do not fall out of line.
Background
Once, she was considered a hero of Terra Eclipsis. Despite the hardships of her life, she would fight valiantly during the First Elven-Dragon War, having led countless attacks against the horrid creatures, and is said to have slain the last Dragon to have existed after the end of the war. All of this was due to a belief that she could rise up to the top, to make The Kingdom into a better place for everyone like her.
The act of slaying that Dragon would pave the way for her to become the Ghost Of Terra. She would experience a betrayal so great afterward, that it left her in a broken state. Left to die in a ditch far outside the walls of The Kingdom, she would have perished there, had it not been for the intervention of A man who's sin brought wrath to all the realms.
Brought from the brink of death by this man, Iris was given power. She was given a connection to an exiled Strakhian deity known as The Eternal Cold. Thanks to the assistance of the both of them, Iris' grief and despair from being betrayed by her own realm turned into something else entirely.
And thus, she would create the Tower Of Babel. Within this world of chaos, she has made her home: fighting to create a world where there is nothing ruling over the world, a world of chaos. One where she can finally be free.
The Commandants
Takyon
HE WHO HAS SUFFERED, HE WHO WISHES FOR REVENGE
Takyon is one of Iris' commanders, having been brought along after he had been rescued from the depths of Terra Eclipsis.
Role
Takyon is effectively Iris' right hand man. He serves not only as Iris' bodyguard, but carries out tasks that requires a heavy offense. Overshadowing his allies in height, Takyon is feared for his strong physical form, and his strong jaw-- with sharp teeth that're able to rip through steel with ease.
Background
Once upon a time, Takyon lived as a simple farmer within The Sands. He lived fine, finding delight in the simple parts of life, content with living on his farm. One day, however, a freak accident resulted in Takyon being sent into Terra Eclipsis, where unfortunate circumstances would result in him becoming a slave to The Kingdom.
He was greviously injured, to the point where he lost the ability to speak thanks to his captors. It was only through continued exposure to Mana as he worked within the royal mines that he would be able to utter a single word: Takyon. Reduced to only muttering his name, he quietly worked in the mines, his body continually being warped by the energies surging throughout the dark caverns.
It was during Iris' first raids on Terra Eclipsis, before The Withering, where he would meet The Ghost Of Terra. Takyon, wowed by the raw determination and power Iris displayed, and desiring to make The Kingdom suffer for what they did to him, he would join The Tower Of Babel, becoming Iris' personal bodyguard; as thanks to the woman who saved him from his hell.
Charon Romero
WITHOUT A MORAL COMPASS, THE DEAD MAY SUFFER ETERNALLY
Charon was once a researcher from the Deepcore Foundation. Now he is something much, much worse.
Role
Charon oversees weapon and material acquisition for the Tower Of Babel, as well as overlooking the creation of Vires and Agent. Alongside this, he serves as the Commanding Officer for the KILLERS.
Background
Not much is known about the enigmatic man known as Charon Romero. What's certain is that at one point, he served as an informant to a scientist who went by the same last name as him, though they have no familial relation. What is known for certain, however, is his willing participation in various horrors throughout the years.
Even just before The Withering, he became known throughout the Deepcore Foundation for his unethical experiments on the deceased. His experimentations were considered an affront to god, a travesty that would horrify even the worst that Sheol had to offer. He was responsible for assembling the KILLERs, filled with the deadliest soldiers that he could get his hands on.
Despite these travesties, Iris sought him out, seeing his work on manipulating the souls of the dead as the best way for her to gain more of an army against those who would oppose her. She would justify it as
The Interloper
SHE WHO CAST ASIDE HER LOYALTY, DAMNED FOR ETERNITY
The Interloper is a woman who cast away her loyalties to her country, seeking to dismantle everything that made them whole.
Role
The Interloper would obtain information from the various forces within the realms, manipulating and corrupting those beneath her so that she can get what she wants. She emploied various false identities and disguises to do so, making it difficult to find her before it was too late. In extreme cases, she would torture people to get what she wanted.
Background
Once, The Interloper went by a different name, one that has lost all meaning to her by now. She was a teacher at The Meteora Institute, having served The Union with pride. She was known for her strict demeanour, educating her students with a militaristic determination that would've allowed for them to serve their country well.
She would be held to blame when one day, a majority of the students in her care were slaughtered by a force not from Terra Eclipsis, nor from any other realm. The blame fell onto her, for leading the students to death. The School, and her country, blamed her for knowingly fighting a force that they could not stand up against.
Was this the truth? Was it not? No one knows, except for her and Iris.
She would wander the realms, eventually being found by The Ghost Of Terra and recruited into the Tower Of Babel. Although she is currently held prisoner at The Meteora Institute, she sits in wait, prepared for a chance to escape and to strike back at the country that betrayed her.
The Eternal Cold
THE BANISHED FURY OF A MINDLESS COLD
The Eternal Cold is an entity that hails from the nightmarish dimension of Strakh.
Role
The Eternal Cold is able to distort and manipulate the world, a cosmic force that gives life to inanimate objects and whose will allows for controlling beasts.
Background
Eons ago, The Eternal Cold was once a high-ranking god of the realm of Strakh. A Bozhestvo unlike any other, The Eternal Cold enstilled fear into those around him. Considered a god of the Ice, The Eternal Cold wished to ensure the demise of Humanity once, seeing them as responsible for the suffering that his home went through.
Despite his efforts, however, he would fail, being sealed away in between the realms. Despite this, his presense remained, unable to be fully severed from that of the other realms. It was thanks to him that Iris' savior, Wrath, was able to bring her back to health and give her the strength needed to survive. Now, he serves Iris.
Korr
A LIZARD WHO LOST EVERYTHING WILL HOLD NO REGRETS
Korr is a large Reptilia who was once a feared force throughout The Sands. Now, he serves as the judge, the jury, and the executioner of The Tower Of Babel's operations.
Role
Alongside maintaining contacts in the dark underbelly of the world, allying himself with criminals and thieves all across the realms, Korr oftentimes works to hunt people down with his gang, The Kangaroo Court.
Background
Long ago, at the dawn of the century, a lone Reptilia would begin making a name for himself throughout The Sands. Leading a gang that called themselves The Highwaymen, Korr would strike at the rich and steal from them. Over time, however, he would become greedy, kidnapping people for ransoms and executing people who got in his way.
One day, he lost his entire gang to a man who betrayed him. Forced out of The Sands and onto Earth, Korr would wander the realm and, in secret, begin building up a new gang for him to lead, the Kangaroo Court. Although they would become feared throughout the northern part of the United States, they too would fall into ruin when an attempt at robbing a warehouse would result in the deaths of a majority of his gang.
Korr could've stopped there, his life in disarray and everything he had known having been lost once again. It would be then, that an offer was made to him by Charon.
Now he serves The Tower Of Babel, acting as a criminal informant for them and spreading chaos throughout the realms, all in the name of getting revenge on those who wronged him.
Presto Jesto
HE WHO CRAVES DELIGHT, SHE WHO DESIRES BLIGHT
Presto Jesto is an oddball, a madman who takes delight in causing as much chaos as they desire. She's also the perfect monster that the Tower Of Babel needs.
Role
A powerful, magical jester, Presto Jesto is oftentimes needed for warping, breaking, and manipulating people that The Tower Of Babel targets. Alongside that, she is used for disrupting efforts made to fight back against the Tower Of Babel, his immense strength and magical ability making it hard to fight back against it.
Background
Out of all the members of the Tower Of Babel, Presto Jesto is an oddball.
Iris discovered Presto Jesto as she wandered the realms, discovering the jester wandering through the Land Of Nod. Naturally, the Jester thought Iris would be a prime target for him to fuck with, and so she started off by trying to kill Iris. To it's surprise, however, Iris overcame the strength of the Jester, besting him in battle. It was then that Presto Jesto learned of what Iris' ambitions were, what she intended to do for the world.
Being drawn to the destructive and anarchistic energy that the Ghost Of Terra had, he offered to join up with the Tower Of Babel. Although he is seen as a loose cannon at best and a monster that is just as likely to turn on the Tower if she gets bored, Presto Jesto has stayed loyal to the Tower Of Babel-- albeit with the cavet that it occasionally fans the flames of destruction further than normal.
Out of all of these individuals, however, there is one commandant whom has gone missing. The same man that revived Iris, the man whom commited the sin of wrath. Not much is known about him, except for the fact that something happened in regards to him and Sheol; and the fact that for whatever reason, he's forbidden from ever setting foot on Earth. Whatever the case, one of the goals of the Tower Of Babel is to find this man.
Forces
Agents
Originally designed as soulless meat puppets for the Deepcore Foundation's defenses and top-secret activities, Agents are now created en-masse by the Tower Of Babel. Constructed from synthesized skin and flesh and held together with Mana-infused steel bones, Agents are often used for security for the Tower Of Babel's operations.
Surtr-Class Military Drones
Although a lot harder to come by due to the devastation wrought upon the world by The Withering, Surtr-Class Military Drones, once a proud staple of FENRIR, have been adopted by the Tower Of Babel for use in their own operations. Heavily armed and efficient in combat, these drones are a considerable force to be reckoned with.
Dark Vires
Although ordinary Vires are used by the Tower Of Babel, thanks to the works of Charon and the resources he's able to obtain thanks to the cooperation of The Eternal Cold, The Tower Of Babel is able to create powerful beasts unlike anything else seen from Sheol.
Soldiers
For the Tower Of Babel, the naming of their forces as 'Soldiers' is a broad term. The soldiers consist of prisoners and exiles whom had been arrested in their realms, but freed by The Tower Of Babel. This can range from powerful Elves and dangerous Humans, to conniving Reptilia and cruel Strakhians. All of them are trained by the best of the best within the Tower Of Babel, and they all share the same wish as Iris, determined to fulfil it by any means necessary.
A large amount of soldiers were former Deepcore PMC military units that were scattered to the winds after The Withering. Amongst this group is the infamous KILLERS unit. Although they served the Tower Of Babel long before the fall of the Deepcore Foundation, The Withering gave them free reign from their former handlers once they joined up with the Tower Of Babel.
Public Agenda
Once, the world had a common tongue. Once, the world held a common speech. Once, the world was free. This world does not exist anymore. Rulers, kings, queens, gods, all of them desire to bring the world under their hand.We are those who were divided between nations, between realms, between species. We have no one origin, no one place for all of us. We embrace the evil in our heart, and we intend to destroy all that wishes to hold control over the world. No more kings. No more gods.We will reduce the realms to ash. From that cold blackness, the Tower Of Babel will rise.
The Tower Of Babel believes in the destruction of all forms of governmental and military control that seeks to oppress and destroy the weak beneath them. They also seek to remove the control and will of the gods from the realms. As such, they seek to destroy all of it. Over the years, they have targeted various locations owned by the governments of the realm, particularly those found within Terra Eclipsis.
Although The Withering has devastated most of the world and destroyed a majority of the old governments of the world, the new ones; as well as the few surviving governments, are still considered enemies of the Tower Of Babel. Why this is has remained unclear.
The only entities that the Tower Of Babel would dare to worship or respect would be that of the Stars. Although they have not been seen in ages, the Stars were considered holy figures whom were truly free to exist how they desired and could do anything. To the Tower Of Babel, this world without Stars is a disgrace to what they believed in and wanted for the world. To put it simply: the Tower Of Babel believes so heavily in a world of peace and individuals joined together as the Stars envisioned it, that they want to make it a reality.
For each member of the Tower Of Babel, of course, they all have their own ultimate goals with everything they're doing. Whether it's stopping the pointless wars their home has, or getting revenge upon those who wronged them, they will stop at nothing to achieve them.
Assets
The full scope of power that the Tower Of Babel has is unknown to most of the world. Alongside the aforementioned forces consisting of hellbeasts, machines, and soldiers, it's said that the Tower Of Babel has access to a massive cache of weaponry and magic. How they obtain the funding for their operations remains a mystery as well, though it's suspected that it has something to do with the former connections they had with the Deepcore Foundation before their destruction. Some have even said that they got it from it's former CEO, Freddie Russo, though he has been dead ever since The Withering occured.
A good majority of the sources of Mana that the Tower Of Babel has stems from artifacts obtained from across all of the realms. In particular, however, they come from the various Vaults that were left behind by the Stars eons ago.
A few reports have suggested that they have a base hidden somewhere out within the Land Of Nod, though the exact location and formation of the base remains a mystery.
History
The tale of the Tower Of Babel is a tale of Iris Nox.
For eons, Iris Nox lived as a member of the ruling class of The Kingdom, once a child who was uncertain about her place in life. She would face travesty after travesty, having things taken away from her despite how much she loved her home, how much she loved the people around her. Even as she enjoyed her childhood roaming the ruins found upon Thee Silver Mt. Zion, she was always overcome with a sense of guilt and pain simply for existing.
As she grew up, she faced oppression after oppression. She thought that she could serve her country well, she wanted to prove to the world she lived in that she was not only a useful asset, but someone that could bring about a wonderful change to the people she loved. Her countrymen. Her comrades in arms. Throughout the devastating First Elven-Dragon War, she fought against the Dragons and would stop at nothing to keep them from winning. As blood stained her hands, she became known as a powerful knight. She thought that maybe, she would be able to reach high enough to change the realm for the better. Usher in a new age of peace.
Alas, this was not to be.
She was sent to slaughter the last Dragon living upon Terra Eclipsis soon after the end of the war. With a desire to drive the Dragons into extinction, they send the one person whom they could trust to protect their realm from the threat the Dragon provided just by existing.
The fight between her and the Dragon was long and brutal. Yet by the end of it, Iris won. As a consequence of the Dragon's death, however, she ended up absorbing a massive amount of Mana from it's body.
She would return back to The Kingdom, and she was feared immensely by her allies due to the immense power she had now. Before she could realize what was going on, Iris was attacked by her former countrymen and allies. By the end of the night, she was taken to a empty, unmarked ditch far from the walls of The Kingdom and left there to bleed to death.
Of course, with anyone else, their story would have ended there. With Iris, that was only it's beginning.
She was rescued by a particular man, he who brought wrath onto Earth. It was thanks to him that Iris was able to survive.
After this, however, Iris has had enough. She was overcome with grief for her own existence, but that grief quickly gave rise to something much, much worse. In that grief, she turned into a monster. With the help of this man, she would eventually come into contact with The Eternal Cold.
And with that, The Tower Of Babel was born.

Love the article! Fantastic read and it feels like you put a lot of thought and care into the creation of it! The only thing I would say is that the colors for "Agents" and the "Drones" doesn't match the others and the "Drones" title section gets a little too dark to read. Other than that it's fantastic!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! :D Also, thanks for the headsup on the titles being a little iffy, should be fixed now!
