Ballytopp Inn

Built over a hundred years ago, the Inn has changed quite a bit over the years as the fortunes of Toppingward have increased, and more people come to trade goods with the Moorland Gnomes. It caters for a wide range of customers of all shapes and sizes, so inside the design is as ecclectic as the city in which it resides.   One hundred and twenty years ago, Grentham Humblestick was the Head Chief in charge of the then town of Toppingward. He was an ambitious and forward thinking Gnome and realised that they needed to keep up with changing times beyond their borders. He tried to increase tourism and trade to the town, but the lack of facilities or lodgings for bigger folk, meant people were reluctant to come. There was always the travelling merchants and those who didn't mind roughing it. But very few came during the colder months, which he thought was a shame because the loch was quite pretty in the winter.   At the recommendation of several regular merchants to the city, Grentham organised the construction of an inn. It was a two storey affair, with the first floor of stone and the second of timber and it had a thick thatched roof. A year later the Ballytopp opened its doors for the first time. It took a while for the word to spread but soon people were coming to stay in the town, the inn had been a Success. Thirty years the inn was closed for renovations as a third floor was added to the building, and this time a tile roof was added.   The inn has also had it stables extended, a single storey wing added to the side, a kitchen upgrade, and several interior redesigns. While most of the rooms are built to accommodate bigfolk, such as Humans, Dwarves and Fae creatures, there are also rooms which cater to the smaller folk too. There are small clockwork lifts, which run up the centre of the large spiral staircases which go from floor to floor, to allow tiny folk to travel between floors safely. A section of the attic space has even been converted to accommodate faries and pixies, at least the ones that are willing to behave themselves.   The ground floor has the main tavern common room, kitchen, storage rooms, baths, and four small private rooms for those who wish to dine or meet in peace. The second floor has twelve big rooms and a lounge area. The second floor has four suites, and six big rooms, and another lounge area. The wing to the side has twenty rooms sized for smaller folk, as well as a lounge and dining room for those who don't wish to dine in the bustle of the main common room.

Jendro Kindlehock

Manages the day to running of the Inn along with his sister Lindina. Jendro tends to deal with the front end of the business: greeting guests, assigning rooms, ensuring the bar and cellars are stocked and seeing to the general upkeep of the place. He also manages the stable and bar staff. Having once been a member of the border guard he is good at spotting troublemakers and dealing with them before they can cause trouble.

Lindina Kindlehock

A quiet and thoughtful Gnome, Lindina deals with the more behind the scenes running of the inn. She manages the finances, orders the food supplies, takes advanced bookings and ensures any special requirements of the guests are met. She also manages the staff who clean and prepare the rooms. She has a shrewd mind and is good at securing good supply deals for rarer items.

Meahruna Stardew

A Satyr from the Sildrak forest, she came to Toppingward about twenty years ago and just never left. She is a cheerful and friendly sort but is also quite tough and doesn't take nonsense form people. She began working tables at the inn not long after she arrived and is now head barkeep. She works five nights a week and knows all the regulars by name, as is a bit of a draw for tourists as Satyrs are quite rare in these parts.
