General Physical Condition
Known as a physically healthy man with a decent head on his shoulders. He has taken up sports through his life and was top of his rank on the physical training for the RCMP. He is above average in his athletic physique and can endure long periods in the wilderness.

He has a square frame with a decent muscle mass. His athletic capabilities lean towards stamina and endurance than heavy muscles. He hardly looks like a weight lifter but his training allowed him to be a good athlete.

He has a rugged face with a strong jawline and high cheekbones. His eyes are prominent and has a small mouth with thin lips. His face also shows signs of living in the wilds for sometime during his time working in the arctic.

He isn't horribly distinct enough to stand out in a crowd. But to those who knew him through his school and RCMP days, they say they recognize the way he play sports.

Has a bite mark from a wolf and a scratch mark from a monstrous bear.

Personal history
John Keene always wanted to help people, it was something he knew since his days as a youth. In the late 1920's he joined the RCMP to do just that, meeting their qualifications quite well. Up to this point he had a normal life living in Toronto with the most notable thing being his sports activity. He was stationed at several places in Canada throughout the 30's. The more out of the way and natural place were somewhat of a whammy to him as he never got used to the wilderness in his youth.
By the 1940's he became a RCMP corporal stationed in the northern territories in 1942 and grew bored with being stationed there. it was around here where he met Nelvana. At the time she was sabotaging a mining operation and saved the scientist Cornelius Rockingham from the clutches of Nazis and brought him to the nearest outpost she could find. As the Doctor was explaining his story to the Corporal, The goddess had found signs of a nazi air strike and warned the officer. The threat was taken cared of and in turn a friendship was struck. As recorded by his accounts and personal journals that supplemented his reports, the goddess would come to him from time to time gradually reporting on the activities and troubles of her people to the occasional tea time to keep him company. In his reports he labeled her as a concerned citizen or an anonymous tip. His next big adventure involved a Prang invasion orchestrated by the villain Vultor. It was here where he met the Langdon twins in search of his friend. He found her when he returned to the RCMP headquarters in Ottawa where he found she was a secret agent. After hearing his story they went through a massive subwoofer type device in order to go to the Etherian plane. But to due interference they landed at Statica first then found there way to a Human settlement on Etheria before dealing with the Prang and Vultor. On a side note he was put on leave due to his coworkers and superiors suspecting he succumbed to cabin fever due to his alien invasion story.
His other adventures with Nelvana included time travel plots, thwarting alien invasions and other things that wouldn't be off in a Sci-fi pulp novel.
He died of old age in his home city of Toronto in the early 80's. People around when he had his dying breath noticed he had a glow akin to the northern lights leave his body.

Is proud of the adventures he went on with Nelvana. Two particular moments that stand out in his career involved Having to mediate between Prang, Etherian Human and Flameman During their civil rights era and being the one to help bridge the gap for Glacia since he knew them to a degree.
Failures & Embarrassments
Other than having the usual unsolved case or lost perp from his RCMP job, He has several adventures where he lost to a villain. This includes an alien overlord and a robot.
Mental Trauma
Because he is a man of his time who went on adventures and seen many strange and unusual things. This led him to question many things and come to terms with many things he knew. He was also mocked because of the things he reported and came to terms with it. Because of this and the boredom he obtained during his tenure in the territories he was stationed closer to civilization.

Is an RCMP officer mostly because he thought he could help people. He joined Nelvana on her adventures to stave off boredom. He ended up enjoying having adventures with Nelvana.

He's into dramas and dime novels and exciting fantasy, television and radio programs. It helps him stave off the boredom he feels from his stay in the outpost.
Can be annoyed by the northern lights due to disturbing radio signals. He also hates bad or dull media and has been known to complain about stories he hates. Harlequin type romance novels are his least favorite kind of books.

Other than his knowledge of weapons and RCMP training, He is also known to be reliable, open minded and ultimately accepting. Time and time again he has shown to be able to put his biases aside to pursue reason.

Is a smoker, as per the norm for the time. Other than having the common views, both good and bad, He struggles doing anything above basic math and science. He can comprehend the concepts well enough, he can solve them to save his life. He is also believed to have suffered from cabin fever.

Believes in catholisim, but because of his experiences with Nelvana he became more open in accepting the existence of other gods and leans more towards the morality of his religion than accepting it as absolute fact.

He is normally calm and open minded. And because of the era he lived in, he can interacted with almost any being normally regardless of race and species. (Often says it's not the weirdest thing in his life.)
Mannerisms
He move his head around like a little child in a candy store whenever he visits a new alien civilization. When he's bored he will open the radio to almost anything and just sit with his eyes closed. This is also how he puts himself in a relaxed state. He doesn't avoid eye contact when in conversation and will be subtle stoic when he is in a relaxed conversation.

Enjoys reading, especially drugstore novels.

Tends to use the phrase "This reminds me of something I read" when an adventure reminds him of a book.
