Wolfram-16
"The hunt for another Earth has become the ultimate quest of our times. Can humanity expand its reach, pushing its boundaries beyond the limits of solar systems or even galaxies? Can this generation ensure the future of our species extends long past the life of even stars? We used to wonder what the heavens would say of humanity, when our time was done. Now we go to those heavens and write the story ourselves."Tymon Stamatis CEO of Pantodyne Industries in a speech before the launch of Belysa
Wofram-16 is a planet orbiting within the "habitable zone" of the Bellerophon Star System. A team funded by Pantodyne Industries was sent to investigate the planet in the year 2117.
Discovery
Astrologist Louisa Wolfram discovered Wolfram-16 in 1987, and is among a massive resume of celestial bodies and phenomena she discovered a long and illustrious career. Wolfram wasn't aware that Wolfram-16 was in the so-called "habitable zone" of its star, until over a decade later. When notified of the planets special status she replied...."Oh how nice for her, I guess... It's like finding out one of your children graduated college. The degree doesn't mean much because the previous generations will have destroyed this planet long before she gets to use it. "Louisa Wolfram, Astrologist (Wisconsin News Report July 1998)
Race For Earth 2
In the year 2050, Space Travel underwent an evolution, with incredible discoveries that pushed humanity's ability to move faster and further from its home. These capabilities were first used to launch mining missions to distant asteroids in search of rare ores and energy resources. Once this became profitable, space travel technology improved to a point that bigger ideas became more possible, such as the building of the mega space station the Andalee-9.During this time scientists had amassed a large collection of possible planets that would be habitable for humanity. Around the year 2088, with the right technology in place, a global race erupted between countries and private sector entrepreneurs over who could discover the "Earth 2". However many warned that this was like finding a needle in a haystack, and that our own earth may be the only needle. Tymon Stamtis, CEO of Pantodyne Industries invested a great deal of the company's resources into astral mining and it had paid of massive dividends. He invested in multiple missions to different planets hoping to be the first to discover a second inhabitable planet. One of these planets was Wolfram-16, to which he sent the crew of The Belysa
The Belysa
The crew of the Belysa consists of 11 members, each with various backgrounds both scientific and military. It caries with it a vial of Louisa Wolfram's ashes given to the crew by one her descendants, excited that a piece of her would be able to visit the planet she discovered. The Belysa launched in August of 2117 and is expected to land a little over a year later on November 12th 2118. The world waits to hear what they discover.
