Steam & Steel is a forge like no other in the North Ward—where precision meets artistry, and iron serves both war and wonder. The shop is owned and operated by Embric and Avi Nymbric–Kavash, partners in business and life, whose talents reflect two sides of the same blade.
To the left of the main entry, Embric’s forge roars with disciplined intensity. The fire genasi keeps his workspace clean, methodical, and hot enough to ripple the air. Every hammer blow lands with purpose. Racks of weapons and armor line the walls—functional, balanced, and built to endure. Embric’s clients include adventurers, mercenaries, and guild enforcers, all of whom know they’re getting steel that won’t fail.
To the right lies Avi’s studio, a quieter space filled with fine tools and velvet-lined cases. Avi doesn’t forge—he refines. A delicate chisel, a jeweler’s loupe, a wire-thin engraving pick—his instruments are meant for metal that’s already found its shape. Decorative inlays, custom insignia, arcane filigree—Avi’s work adds meaning to Embric’s strength, whether it’s a lion etched across a breastplate or a ring of runes spiraling down a rapier’s fuller.
Between the two is the showroom—a grand space of burnished counters, velvet drapes, and gleaming steel, where blades catch the light like gallery pieces. Here, form and function are indistinguishable. Embric’s grit, Avi’s detail, and a shared pride in excellence make Steam & Steel more than a smithy. It’s a statement.
