Dansitu

A Wayfarer Gnome, Dansitu is well known for her studies of Ork societies and ways of befriending Beasts. She is actively focusing on understanding Orks in the hope that one day they will be willing to share more detailed information with us, though she cares more about studying Beasts. Recently she went on a seventeen-month exploration into the rainforest Beast Lands, to document what Beasts there were and what signs of former settlements could be found.   Dansitu was born to a migratory Gnome tribe that is known to really prepare their travels. They always prepare well for the next environment they will venture into, as well as ways to befriend the local Beasts. In some cases they even hunt together with Beasts, or work together in special ways. Inspired by this, Dansitu pledged at a young age to discover more Beasts that could be reasoned with.   Her background has shaped Dansitu in many ways. She sets up explorations well in advance, arranging supplies and preliminary research months if not years before she actually sets out herself. The Dansitu exploration into the rainforest was prepared for three years, with stockpiles left on a large part of the planned route. This allowed the exploration to cover far more ground, as they were less hindered by their supplies.   One of the big success factors of Dansitu's explorations is her befriending of Beasts. While we cannot call it turning them into pets, at the very least she has managed to reach an agreement of sorts. Her rainforest exploration also included two dozen Beasts that accompanied the Wayfarers, which helped them with transport and warned them of nearby threats. The Beasts actually accompanied them all the way, then returned with them. A lot of our researchers are studying how to replicate this, since these efforts may very well expand our attempts to investigate and control the Beast Lands.
