He looks after the Industrial Quarter for The Thornwood Dynasty. The Industrial Quarter is the space between the overworld and underworld, so it is almost certain that he has had contact with the 'lesser immortals' of the underworld.
It is also rumoured that he manipulates and bribes any factions that might show signs of unrest or discontent. Even though most vampyr are seemingly content, there are always going to be a few who question whether they are getting what they deserve or yearn for a 'freer' existence. Using his expert-level mind control he suppresses any unruliness and offers illegal contraband to keep them sweet.
There is also talk that relationships are strained between him and his family. This grew worse after the death of his mother, Serafina Thornwood. She seemed to dote on him more than the others, but his relationship with the rest of his family was difficult. Out of his siblings he seems to get on best with his youngest sister Serena. This could be because she prefers to stay out of the lime-light and has a more quiet, introverted nature which he feels less threatened by.
Because of his soured family relationships he tends to reside more often at The Crossroads Inn in the Industrial Quarter, where he has managed to secure the whole top floor as a reasonably comfortable place of residence. There has been much talk of 'strange' looking beings visiting him here. What is he up to? Will he bring ruin and disrepute on his family or will he just sink into his own mire of misery?

I picked this for my summer reading 8D Gotta love a man of mystery. Or in this case, vampyr. I like the intrigue and questions that surround his actions and his family – by default, I’m always on the side of the estranged one, the one that flirts with the lines. Manipulation, bribery, and mind control doesn’t do much to dissuade me in my loyalties. This is the sort of character I’d want to read more about – what set him apart from his family and how goes his life at the Crossroads Inn?
