Underworld Forest

Owned and created by Shrestia, the Underworld Forest is a biolumenscent paradise. Plants and animals of all manner roam the vast cave system in an organic ecosystem she's created as her home away from home.
Having been banished from the surface as an Undfey, Shrestia shaped the vast, expansive caves to hold that which she holds dear. As a former Fey that favored nature and life, this takes the form of biolumenescent plants and animals. Some are copies of their overworld brethren. Deer, birds, insects, wolves, and large cats. While other are hybrid combinations and mutations of her own design, where she has experimented in her ample free time.
The whole of the Underworld Forest in this cave system is, in a way, an extension of Shrestia. Though diverse and beautiful, it is deadly to visitors. Keeping the Undfey safe and secluded, as she would have it.

Visitors Not Welcomed

Since Shrestia has been cast down from the surface, she's accepted the exile for the time being. She's gone through periods of restlessness and has made a handful of attempts to return - roughly three - but the Fey are quick to send her back to the Underworld. Banishing her from Vyril.
As such, she is not particularly friendly to strangers. Her mood varies from utterly intolerant and murderous to absent. Whatever her response, though, the Forest itself is not a friendly place. The animals are hostile, the plants more often than not poisonous, and it can feel like the entire Forest is out to get you.
Because it is.

Natural Resources

As biodiverse a place as the Forest is, it is home to many various herbs, alchemical wonders, rare creatures, and exotic finds. Very few have ever found the place and fewer still have survived to tell stories about it. Rumor and legend goes, though, that the Underworld Forest has the Flower that Cures All, the Water of Immortality, and feathers made of pure magic.
It's hard to parse what might be real and what might be tavern tales.

There is a vast Underworld between Vyril and Torresind. In this winding, labyrinthine place, the Underworld Forest can be found.
