Expansion Bombs

Article Contents

Expansion Bombs are a class of magical bombs that expand rather than explode. What is meant by this is that the bombs use a material called Compression Glass. this glass is charged with Aether and the space inside it is compressed, up to one hundred times that of the space outside the glass. Even incompressible liquids will compress up to ten times smaller than it's original size.

These bombs will then use a secondary layer of glass called Gravity Glass a special type of glass charged with aether again. This glass lowers the weight of the bomb by up to fifty times. These two types of glass are quite strong and resistant to shock, but can be greatly weakened simply by charging the bomb with mana before throwing.

The result is a technical bomb that when thrown and the glass shatters, the material inside will quickly expand back to its original size covering a very large area in most cases. Certain types of expansion bombs are very effective such as acid bombs, fire ant bombs, smoke bombs, and more.

There is a subtype of expansion bombs called Field Bombs that will expand outwards and then linger for a period of time. These bombs all have a magical substance in them what will contain the contents to a specific area. Usually this effect lasts up to five minutes, but some bombs can last for several hours.
