SM6 - Leave My Home

General Summary

The Phoenix Six received their rewards from Sweaty and returned to Celonar to embark on a new quest.

Cops are Racist, Who Knew?

After fighting the blob, the city guard approached Sweaty, asking him to produce proof of ownership of the items the blob stole due to their clear anti-Tiefling prejudice. Sweaty complied, but the guards failed to notice that his documents for the Crown of Andafirin and some of the other items were illusory fakes. Due to this lack of documentation, it is likely that the government of Cirithas has no knowledge of the Crown of Andafirin's existence.

Burning and Turning

Sweaty took the party to the nearby forest to find Yuya Foghollow, a Halfling werebear who is one of his employees. As they entered the forest, the party met a Fire Genasi Druid walking around the forest in a daze. She accompanied the party to a clearing where they found Yuya in bear form. After a brief confrontation, the party was able to talk Yuya down and learned what really happened: Uhusha, an Elf who was another employee of Sweaty's, ran off with the Crown of Andafirin and some other items from Sweaty's stash. Knowing that the final item (Yuya's amulet) was safe, the party returned to Daer Ethir.

Well-Deserved Rewards

For their reward, the party chose power armor for Tikvah and the Crown of Andafirin, which ended up in the hands of Tana Serado. Yuya identified the crown, telling the party of its powers of woodland manipulation and how it was the symbol of royal authority in the old Elvish kingdom of Andafirin. The party later learns that this roughly corresponds to modern day Tacaras. Based on Uhusha's reaction to the crown, they speculated that the item may be of importance to Elves  from that region, including the Tacaran Independence Movement.

Penpals

The next day while back in Celonar, Tana received a letter from Pemma Harrody, seen right. The party then travelled to Gwestor, a city co-administered by Cirithas and Uttar Dohir. After crossing the river border, they were able to proceed to Faklayn.

Hello Tana. It’s been a while since my last letter. Perhaps writing these makes me old-fashioned, but I still put no trust in magical communication after what happened in Yanta Fas. You never know when someone might be listening, and I unfortunately don’t know the same trick that secretary of yours does with the bags. Thank you for your concern about my safety, but I’m actually doing quite well. I’ve finally reunited with my family at a refugee camp outside Tacaras. My niece Aurina, who’s around your age, has developed quite the crush on you after seeing you in the pamphlets. She didn’t seem dissuaded by stories of how weathered your face is either. I know you’re of course too busy to be worried about all the people who likely have similar feelings, but you can’t blame an Aunt for playing matchmaker.
