Halfling
Summary
Cheerful in the face of what others would call a dull peasant life, Halflings are known for their hospitality and love of fun. Mostly living as farmers, many Halflings view adventuring with suspicion, wondering what kind of people feel the need to leave their families and run around the countryside fighting monsters. Still, Halflings are not unknown to adventuring parties and are more than willing to supply and house a party if they can pay.Subraces
The two subraces of Halfling, Lightfoot and Stout, are more like closely related families than true subraces. Only visually distinct to their own kind, the two are perfectly happy to coexist in the same villages and live similar lives despite their slight differences. Lightfoot Halfling

Appearance
Halflings are nearly identical in appearance to Humans. Their difference in height is the most immediately noticeable difference, though halflings tend to have wider faces and builds than humans as well. Halflings have the same range of hair, skin, and eye colors as humans but the ratios are often reversed. Brown hair and brown eyes are as rare for Halflings as red hair and blue eyes are for humans, leading this already superstitious bunch to assign significance to that combination of features. Halflings prefer dyed cotton and wool clothing and usually shun jewelry and fine clothes as attention-seeking novelties.Culture
Halfling culture values community prosperity higher than any other goal. Generally lawful good in alignment, Halflings are quick to share what they have with other members of the community and with visitors. Nearly all Halflings hold some form of religious belief, most often Spiorady, but Halflings usually see faith as a secondary concern when compared to the importance of their family or work. Halflings are poor hunters, but they get by just fine on the crops they grow, fish they catch, and livestock they slaughter.Livelihood
Despite the simplicity of their rural lives, Halfling villages have thriving cultures and economies. Halfling craftspeople are known for their work ethic and higher output than those of other races, excelling at pottery, baking, and clothing making. While their buildings are not particularly large or impressive to look at, Halflings utilize unique furniture-making and weatherproofing techniques that make their homes the most comfortable in the countryside. Though they can work hard, Halflings are better known as party animals, delighting in loud music and drunken dancing.Upbringing
Settled Halflings generally have four or more children and live in multigenerational households. As a result, children grow up with strong familial bonds. Halfling children usually make a lot of friends outside their extended families as well, though their propensity for gossip does tend to limit the length of these. Though Halflings believe in a certain level of individual freedom, their veneration of the family means that they sometimes view queerness or adventuring as a youthful prelude to settling down and having a family. Halfling names from Tolkien or D&D work well in this setting.Relations with Others
Halflings get along with pretty much every race, saving their grudges for individuals who do wrong by them. Halflings like Elves and Satyrs , as most Halfling villages owe their nobles feudal dues.
