Hexenwulf
A small fishing village on the eastern edge of Elkris, Hexenwulf is cut off from the Kingdom of Yevon by the Frigid Highlands.
Demographics
Mostly human with halflings, half-elves and half-orcs. There are a few dwarves and elves that are residents of the small town.
Government
The Lord of Hexenwulf is Lord Ewan Gregory who makes the laws, gathers the guard and is the final word on any trade proposals.
Defences
Hexenwulf has a town guard of volunteers. Many of them work other jobs including woodworking, fishing and nature guides for travelers.
Industry & Trade
Tourism and rumor. Based on their proximity to the Shattermist Isles, many travelers come for lore about the lost Elven Empire of Cardimir.
Infrastructure
There is a watermill built into the side of the Axenthea Sea. Most of the roads are dirt until you start to head into the mountains. Most travel is done by foot through the Crescent Hills or by boat across the Axenthea Sea.
Districts
Hexenwulf Square is the only district. It is in the center of town where the tavern, shop and town hall preside. Everything outside of the main district is considered Outer Hexenwulf.
Assets
Fairly self-sufficient. Some lumber, some trinkets from the Shattermist Isles. Many outer sources of coin come from travelers and lore enthusiasts.
History
Founded by Fira Johri, Hexenwulf was founded specifically for its relative distance to Gevlyn. However, it was difficult to traverse being entirely cut off by the Frigid Highlands. Fira Johri made accommodations and built Hexenwulf to be a thriving local trade center.
Unfortunately, the prosperity of Hexenwulf was undone by the Storm of Reckoning. Trade dried up when they could not go near Gevlyn without ships being destroyed. Many businesses left the area, leaving only those who were tied to the community. Since then, Hexenwulf has become extremely insular and focused on travelers who want to hear about the fall of Cardimir and Cardimir's Curse.
Points of interest
The Juste House is the local tavern owned by Carol Anne Juste. It is a merry place to find an ale, swap stories and rumors about the Shattermist Isles.
Harnam's Hoard is a supply shop that mostly sells to the local fisherman and traders. He has reasonable prices, but will save a copper or two whenever necessary to keep his shop afloat.
The Church of Esper has a local chapel, heralded by Priestess Zue Treeswift. Though the chapel is to Esper, it is open to all religions for prayer and connection with the gods.
The Explorer's Guild is a recent development, heralded by Reynaldo Fernando del Baggisio. With it, he is willing to pay any travelers to either map the Shattermist Isles or on special projects.
Birkin Grimsbane sells alchemical supplies out of his home in the town.
Natural Resources
Wood from the forests, fish from the ocean. Hints have been made of mining ore in the Frigid Highlands, but they are extremely dangerous without more defenses for the town.
