Perdition's Folly

A Legendary Tavern & Meeting place

Christopher Burson AKA: Crafty DM
Many a bard tell of harrowing tales of a fated ship known as Perdition's Folly. The story Tales vary a little from culture to culture of how its pirate crew sailed the oceans far and wide in search of treasure and glory. Often escaping kings navies, along with the attempted grasp of a Kraken and even the Jaws of a Revenant Shark, only to be lost to the churning tides of its 13th voyage through the Great maelstrom due to the Drunken cockiness of her captain and crew. Songs and Tales abound and are favorites among Sailors, dock hands, old salts, and of course Maelstrom Mariners.   How much is truth has been lost in time or rarely spoke of from actual sailors he may have crewed aboard her. The actual reality is Perdition's Folly lives on Discovered by a couple of seasoned Maelstrom mariners who stumbled across her battered remains on a Sandy Spit on a little known Island known as Tasmeria. The Island sits on the southern edge of of the Great Maelstrom among a region of island Called the Revenant's Teeth.   Since its discovery the two Mariners initially used an island inlet where the wreck was located as a Resupply anchorage and the wreck Perdition's Folly was used as a shelter and storehouse but as time went on the anchorage became a popular location not only for these two but many Mariners and a settlement called Brigand's bay began to be built around it. The two Mariners ownership of the of Perdition's Folly never came into dispute and their fortunes and reputations grew as did their fortunes.
Perdition's Folly cover
The Perdition's Folly has gone through many modifications and upgrades since the ship become shelter and store house. It has now become a bustling Mariners Inn and Tavern sitting within horizon sight of the great Maelstrom. It is acts as a Trade Warehouse, and central hub for Ship supply and Re provisioning. it is known as a neutral ground meeting place for feuding pirates and trade enemies. The Perdition's Folly is now not only an elaborate building but also a vast network of tunnels underneath and is surrounded by some good sized piers, stock houses, a blacksmith shop and Carpentry Mill.   Mariners from all around consider it an honor and a blessing of good luck if some piece of a ship they sailed on is used in the expansion, decoration and improvement of the overall structure of Perdition's folly.   The Perdition's Folly although a bustling place is somewhat secret to most except worldly sailors and Mariners of the Maelstrom, and Pirates of some renown. Not all are allowed to partake of the exotic and rare libations and drink that are within its walls but at best may just hear of it or gaze upon its exterior. Entrance is by referral or affidavit of an honored patron and it is said that becoming an honored patron is through a right of passage resulting in a brand on ones body.   Perdition's folly is a literal melting pot of hardened Scalawags, Salty Mariners and Villains but is the Place to get into if you plan on making your living near the Great Maelstrom.
