Volen

Volen was the first Fate crafted by Urth. He was the first sovereign king of man on Volserd, leading the first humans to establish a society, and founding the exquisite city of Urthearth. Being a Fate, he outlived even the healthiest of his subjects, and through hundreds of years of ruling, learned that a free society was the only way to ensure the growth of mankind. This freedom encouraged all of humankind and they struck out to set up guilds and cities anywhere hospitable. This leads to expeditions and eventually encountering many mortal races (Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, and Orcs) and their Fates. Through Volen's guidance, the races met with little strife, and alliances were formed. Though, the freedom to build your own life under Volen's guidance leads to many greedy mortals building their own nations and claiming parts of Volserd theirs.
Outside of nobility and leading humankind, Volen uses his powers granted by Tyr to heal all who come to him. This is Volen's greatest power. It is said that Volen is the only reason why Urth wasn't lost in her last defense of Volserd. He channeled all his strength to save her soul as she closed all the Aether Byways.
