Sowilbringer

This was one of the three sacred weapons left to the Vættir by the Celestials in The Second Age to help them defend themselves should any trouble arise.

It was locked away in a Fane some time in The Third Age by the Last Archdruid of the Third Age for reasons that are not entirely clear and retrieved by the Hero Mar in The Fourth Age  and used in the Heroes' quest to defeat The Forgotten Powers. While Mar fulfilled an ancient druidic prophecy by returning Sowilbringer to the surface, it was Astrid who most often carried it. Though she is known now mostly for her use of magic and song in combat, Sowilbringer has been been seen hanging from her belt whenever she appears.

Powers

Sowilbringer is a +1 Mace of Disruption:
When you hit a fiend or an undead with this magic weapon, that creature takes an extra 2d6 radiant damage. If the target has 25 hit points or fewer after taking this damage, it must succeed on a DC 18* Wisdom saving throw or be destroyed. On a successful save, the creature becomes frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

It also automatically casts any healing spell at one level higher (without using a higher spell slot) and emits light as bright as the noonday Sowil when doing so. Unlike other maces of disruption, Sowilbringer does not require attunement. However, being the curious bard that she is, Astrid has experimented and verified the hypothesis that only those born on Voktegård can utilize the magical properties of Sowilbringer. In the hands of a Stranger, it is just a mace.   *Typical maces of disruption have a DC 15.
