The Second Age

The Second Age   (The Age of Elves)   For many long eons the Blue Elves (Vættir) lived in peace and kept to their duty. In time the simple primates of Voktegard evolved and the first men were born. The Svart were curious, cunning, eager, strong, and loving. They were not so different from Elves but the Vættir distrusted their susceptibility to the Taint. Some of the Vættir’s early dalliances with humans showed that their strong blood and black skin overtook the Blue Elves’ and so interbreeding was forbidden. Nonetheless the Blue Elves taught men science and religion and agriculture. The culture of men spread across the world and as time went on they adapted to their surroundings in skill and body. The race of men now bred in two new cultures and colors: The tanned-skinned Solbruns of the tropical regions and the pale Goths who roamed the frozen northern reaches. Cities rose up, dotting the globe and in time men became more populous than Elves. And so, the Age of Men began.
