The Fourth Age

The Fourth Age   (The Age of Darkness)   The Mørkgoth Barbarians stormed the Dwarven City and while their warriors fought the City Guards their sorcerous leaders snuck past the City to the cracks in the barrier below. There in the dark their rituals gave strength and blood to the Forgotten Powers. The barrier broke open, crumbling forever. The world changed in a single night as the Age of Darkness swept over Voktegard. Tainted Corpses, Shadows, Sorcerers, and Barbarians overwhelmed the Dwarven City. Those who did not fall to the Taint’s corrupting influence were slaughtered as sacrifices to the Forgotten Powers. None who resisted escaped alive. Their corpses took to the surface and, led by Mørkgoths, they overwhelmed cities of men. The Elves descended from their mountains and the Great War of Voktegard was on.   Some 200 years later, a small band of adventurers, now known as “the heroes of Voktegård”, fought and won the final battle of the Great War. They thwarted a sinister plot to overtake the world in Darkness and sealed the Forgotten Powers away under the weight of the magical stone in the Arr Mountains. Thus, the Age of Darkness finally ended.
