Old Religion

This is the religion adhered to by some druids, rangers, and others. Dryads, treants, nymphs, satyrs, centaurs, sprites, and elementals generally regard believers of the Old Religion well but since they too have learned the truth about the Celestials, most of Voktegård's magical children respect Marite druids and clerics more since they prioritize Voktegård over the Celestials.
Some people use the terms "Old Religion" and "Circle of Stars" interchangeably.
The Old Religion is thought of as one of three traditions of nature-based spirituality, the other two being the Circle of Mar and the faith of The Shining Islands.

Traditions

Druids and rangers of the Old Religion keep at least the Rites of Water and Winter. They celebrate First Day, Vårjevndøgn (Spring Equinox), Sommersowilstede (Summer Solstice), Høstjevndøgn (Autumnal Equinox), Slutthøst (Last Harvest), and Vintersowilstede (Winter Solstice). A common goodbye is "May the Light of Sowil always shine upon you" or other variations of this, sometimes even just "Sowil shine upon you" (which in Druidic is shil Sowil ort). It is a common enough phrase that even non-druids say it in Druidic at times. Fanatical Old Religion druids may respond to this goodbye with, "The Light protects the entire Midt-Indre from the Darkness.”

Type

Religious, Druidic Circle
