Zar'don

General Description

Zar'don is a Great Demnoss. This makes him uniquely positioned to harass Vitcoona and attempt schemes to invoke Incursions. Zar'don is not particularly good at fighting when compared to other Ancient Ones, but he is still extremely dangerous when cornered. However, his power lies in seduction. Technically, Zar'don is a Demnoss aligned with the Lust (an Arch Demnoss). Zar'don specializes in seduction and infiltration. This makes him an ideal agent to foment the creation of additional chapters of the Cult of the Damned . He is devout in his service to The Dark One .

Appearance

Zar'don is a being of living shadows and oil. He has obsidian eyes that glare and roil with seething hate. His body is towering at anywhere from eight to fifteen feet tall (depending on his mood and needs). He is capable of quickly manifesting his full form after a brief time possessing a host. He uses an axe in battle. The axe has a hook on the bottom of the main bill and it's spike on the back of the axe head is also cruelly hooked. Zar'don does not wear armor or clothing given his form is roiling shadows and oily darkness.

Strengths

As stated, Zar'don is an extremely potent seducer and infiltrator. While he is a dangerous fighter, physical confrontation is not his comfort zone, nor something he will seek out readily. Zar'don is always capable of piercing minds readily, and will do so to achieve his goals. He is known to lobotomize his victims to facilitate the advancement of his schemes when it suits him.

Weaknesses

Zar'don is deathly weak to Light magic. He is also arrogant to a fault and slow to adapt to the advancement of technology. This sets him up for failure at the end of his time on Vitcoona's surface. Zar'don is not vulnerable to Fire or Water magic, but he still hates being attacked by Fire and Water Magi. He greatly dislikes getting burnt or soaked.

Significant Plots

In 2120, Zar'don makes planetfall. He is able to possess a host and start building up his strength. He is unable to build his strength high enough to attempt triggering an Incursion. Zar'don is eventually discovered and his host killed. This severely weakens Zar'don, but he was able to hide in a shard of the Black Orb to shield himself from the Wrath of Vitcoona .   In 5897, Zar'don reappears after a long absence from the historical record. He has found a new host (presumably someone who touched the Black Shard Zar'don was hiding in) and his power is significantly greater than his first attempts at triggering an Incursion. He has the ritual set up and is in the process of corrupting a Pylon to anchor the Incursion, when a group of intrepid adventurers interrupt him, destroy his ritual site, then kill his second host. He vanishes for an extremely long time after this defeat, but the adventurers confirmed that Zar'don avoided banishment somehow.   In 13662, Zar'don nearly succeeded in creating a Great Incursion thanks to his abduction and defilement of a Jaxine Rivercross. This plot was foiled by the intervention of Pterarmorian Paragon Stal Psymentor. Stal defeated Zar'don at nearly the cost of his own life, but Zar'don was banished to The Void Beyond permanently.     -The Lore Master
