Mirror's Edge War

The Mirror's Edge War was the war of conquest waged by Tagizdam against The Black Rift.   The Mirror's Edge War started soon after the War of Differing Lights as Tagizdams desperate answer to its debts. Tagizdam owed the Golden Court of the Black Rift enormous amounts of money as a result of borrowing to fund the war it had just waged and for the earlier construction of the The Bowikorol Highway.   With the coffers of his Kingdom quickly running dry and debts coming into payment, Künsirek Bawikorol, the then King of Tagizdam, decided against raising taxes on his subjects. There was already some unrest in Tagizdam over the preceding several cycles of warfare and rumours of a coup were in the air.   Because of this, Bawikorol mobilized his superior army and launched a surprise offensive on the Black Rift just as the The Mirrors was ending, which later gave rise to the name of the war. A brief but bloody battle on and around the walls of the Black Rift ensued. During it, Tagizdam got close enough to victory that the Golden Court decided it best to surrender. It was afraid of Bawikorol's threats of extreme violence upon the city's populace, and the Court in particular, should he win after a more protracted fight.   After the surrender of the Black Rift, the members of the Golden Court were made to travel to Tagizdam where they signed the The Tagizdam Accords, thus bringing an end to the war and the independence of the Rift.
