Rising Organization in Visctheria | World Anvil

Rising

The Rising of Everia - while also known more commonly as the famous document written by Icauria Gates, recording the events of the revolution's triumph - is the organization behind it all. The mismatched band of warriors, casters, scientists, and average citizens that made up the group known as the Rising may have been varied and strange, but the power, confidence, and determination behind their words and goals drove them to success. The Rising succeeded in their mission to unlock the borders of Everia, and forever affected the world's relations with each other.

Organization

The Rising is structured into members of different ranks, collectively known as the Warriors of the Rising. While no differing rank names were specified, there was a sure heirarchy within the ranks, creating a smooth flow of power that allowed the Rising to work like a well-oiled wheel.

Composition

The Rising, while composed mostly of native Everians of all species, did consist of a few foreigners. There were no requirements or specifications among the Rising, only a need to want to fight for your home.

Location

Based in Everia, the Rising makes its home and base of operations in Umivar, one of the Great Cities to the southeast of Everia. Placed near the Ulian Delta and Ulian Swamp, the members of the revolution have learned to navigate the marshes and wetlands like their own backyard, making them a formidable force of guerilla warfare when needed.

History

The Rising formed in the year 1602 BI, after a religious message was received by a follower of Udis deep in the Everian territory. In this message the deity called for help, claiming parts of her were trapped by the ones who oppressed the people. This message spread from worshiper to worshiper, eventually growing into a movement that formed an organized group, and became the Rising.

Activities

The Rising spent their near century of existence fighting for justice for the Everian people, forcing the Council to make changes that would benefit the ordinary citizens over the richer classes of the country.

The Rising of Everia

During the final two years of the reign of the Council of Everia, the Rising not only facilitated the creation of the Great Heroes, but also helped them along their way to take down the rogue Titans that plagued the Everian government.

Culture

The culture of the Rising was very much that of a family, keeping each other together and sane in the unfair times of Everia's Rising. While the Council slowly made things worse, the Rising battled for both the community and the individual.

Assets

Prominent members of the Rising are well known in the modern day for their efforts, despite the careful secrecy with which they moved.

The infamous Great Heroes that took down the Council are certainly the most well known members of the Rising.

The Argent, who share a member with the Great Heroes, are also largely important to the story of the Rising.

The Rising calls out to those downtrodden, those hurt by the system, those unable to fight back. The Council thinks we are fighting a useless war, that the people we fight for are uncaring of our cause. But they forget one thing: We are not fighting for them, we are just handing out pitchforks.

Goals

The Rising has gained a reputation over the years of being the driving force behind Everia's unrest, though many claim different reasoning behind their actions. Some claim they are Reacian spies working to establish trade routes in the locked country, while some say they want to force Everia to choose a side in the Priquish-Salman War. The Rising itself only claims the benefits of opening Everia's borders to the rest of the world, touting connection, community, and massive financial perks in the form of trade and travel.

Agenda

Most Everians were unaware of the Rising before the fall of the Council of Everia, and the Rising liked to keep it that way. They preferred to work in the shadows of political chambers and rooms of decision, quietly making change in effective ways. While they passed bills and governmental actions, street-level Warriors would take up grassroots campaigns among the people of the Great Cities, gathering strength and faith in their community. In secret, they hope to release the Shard of Udis trapped deep in the temple under Mt. Udis, reuniting the Shard with its body and hopefully gaining enough power to make real change.
