Titans Myth in Visctheria | World Anvil

Titans

Titans

The Titans were supposed to be the new generation of deities, the overarching victory of the Weave of Time. However, they strayed from their mother's guidance, and took advantage of the broken world they claimed from the dying hands of the Visctherian Pantheon. They wrote their Books of Magic for their new subjects, and taught them to abandon their forefathers, leaving the Gods to dust. They rose above their ranks, and ruled the world with an iron grip - while they plotted and schemed for even more power.

Xilios

by sunnybirdboi via MidJourney

Main Teachings

  • Light is life. Order is truth.
  • Spread light until no darkness touches.
  • Power is the ultimate achievement.

Xilios, Titan of the Sun and Power, was created to specifically offset Adtia amd Ureus as the absolute light. More worshipers of Xilios exist than worshipers of Adtia, especially in Everia, where the Titan religion is enforced by the Council of Everia.

Xilios wrote his Book on absolute power and the strategy for achieving such, leading his followers to victory across the globe.

Urus

Main Teachings

  • Win the battle, win the war. Loss is not an option.
  • Combat is the ultimate show of power, and those who fail are not worth saving.
  • Peace, while commendable, is only achieved through absolute victory in war.

Urus was born to combat Antar and Zaohr. The Titan of war and peace together, most view him as a deity of victory more than a deity of combat itself.

Urus wrote his Book on the strategies of war, and the victory that can be obtained by following it. His dictations on maintaining peace also helped keep the Second Peace as long as it lasted, allowing for mortals to recover from the War of the Gods.

Zolra

Main Teachings

  • Sparks were made to burn; let them.
  • Life is to burn, death is to burn. Fire is all.
  • Death is not the end of the cycle, but the beginning of a new one.

Zolra, created to offset Athos and Maghena, was a ruthless and fiery Titan. If a project failed, it was burned along with the successes, leaving only ashes behind.

Zolra wrote her book on the benefits and types of fire, as well as how to properly utilize it in all cases. Battles, cooking, crafting, Zolra's Book covered it all.

Adona

Main Teachings

  • Nature overtakes all in the end.
  • The earth offers more than we can return; take what you can, and give nothing back.
  • Life and death are natural cycles, and part of the world.

Adona was made to combat Lothar and Ninana, and put her powers to good use during her rule. She is solely responsible for the creation of a number of species that now inhabit Visctheria, and still exist today.

Adona's Book covers the gifts of nature and how to put them to good use, including the flora and fauna of Visctheria. Her creations headline the book, but all are included to allow for a more comprehensive mortal guide.

Phorysus

by sunnybirdboi via MidJourney

Main Teachings

  • Love, while pure, is not always truth.
  • Feeling is the core of existence; without it life is nothing.
  • Only you can feel what you feel.

Phorysus, born to oppose Eva and Festher, is a deity of lust and hatred, balancing the two archetypes evenly. Her realm covers the depths of emotion, allowing her mortal followers to feel everything in extraordinary amounts. While few still follow Phorysus, those who do are extremely balanced individuals - or extremely out of control.

The Book written by Phorysus is a deep gaze into psychology and emotion, often used by Arcanists to study the feelings and thoughts of mortals around the world. Her Book also covers how to properly control your emotions to your advantage - a section many followers skip.

Vumir

Main Teachings

  • Life without freedom is not life.
  • Crush your enemies like waves on the shore.
  • The sea provides; it is a sin to waste that offered bounty.

Vumir was created to offset Ilotl and Thegyn, and is interestingly enough one of the calmer Titans, despite his roiling realm of power. Another of the group of three Titans that are worshiped in Everia, Vumir is the quietest Titan, and sticks to his shores and shoals.

Vumir's Book is on the bounties of the sea and sailing patterns, as well as how to properly navigate the dangerous waters of Visctheria. The various oceans are vastly different environments, and can trick even experienced sailors into letting down their guard.

Dophine

by sunnybirdboi via MidJourney

Main Teachings

  • Be absolute in your life, faith, and morals. Indecision is weakness.
  • Strength in yourself first, over even faith.
  • Protect nature with your life.

Dophine, created to fight Brodea and Esbius, is the most vicious of the Titans. She holds almost no loyalty to anyone but her followers - most of which are located in Everia along with Xilios and Vumir. While she appears to be a gentle earth and magic deity, her claws are still sharp.

Dophine's Book is written on the ways of Magic around Visctheria, and while Magic originates from Esbius, Dophine designed its use and power.

Enir

Main Teachings

  • The sky sees all and knows all.
  • Return to the sky is the best ending.
  • The Beyond exists above, not below.

Enir combats Thadum and Adia, and was the new deity of the sky realm. Many pray to him before air travel, and some before sea travel to ask for calm winds and skies.

Enir's Book was written on the sky domain, as well as wind patterns and how to safely navigate using flight. Mostly used by the Kami until the invention of the Everian Airships, Enir's story has helped many where it was not previousy expected.

I really like this pantheon. I love how none of these deities looks particularly good or entirely evil on first glace. It all depends on the way you look at them. I also love how you tied the Books of magic to each of them.

Thank you so much! This is the second pantheon of the world, and I definitely designed them with neutrality in mind! Thank you again!
