Prismatics Material in Visctheria | World Anvil

Prismatics

Prismatics are a certain type of crystal mined in various locations around Visctheria, and eventually from the surface of the Moons themselves. The three different formations of Prismatic all produce intense magical energy of different types, allowing the user to accomplish great things with their power.

Power

The Power Prismatics are usually blue in color, and found at high elevations. Many are often found sprouting from the rocks at the tops of mountains, or even forming between the roots of trees. Power Prismatics are commonly used as power cells, acting as batteries for great machines built during the Deific Age. Most Everian Airships in the later Deific Age were eventually powered with Power Prismatics, rather than the multiple mages each ship required to fly.

Benevolence

The red crystals of the Benevolence Prismatic formations are much harder to find, forming deep under the mud in the swampy areas of Visctheria. To unearth them, one must follow the tree roots down into the loam and pull them from the stone beneath. They draw their magic directly from the Trees of Power, and the closer to one of those Trees, the stronger or larger the crystal.

Knowledge

Found in the deepest caves, these white Knowledge Prismatics are often used for research projects, allowing the focus of a project to be much more precise. Distilled knowledge in crystal form, one can often find knowledge on a topic of choice carved along the veins of the crystal, giving hints as to what one needs to know. While few can use Knowledge Prismatics correctly - or safely, as reading a crystal can easily result in madness - there are some who have been awarded for their careful use of the valuable material.

Discovery

The Prismatic crystals were discovered in the early Deific Age, when a young diviner found a Knowledge crystal in a cave near their home. She was able to read the lines of the crystal, and shared her knowledge with the rest of the world as quickly as she could.

When Visctherians first left the atmosphere, they discovered the three moons were also made of these crystals, and began to mine them for use by the Visctherian government.

This was a great article - very polished! I did have some problems with the colors of the headers - not enough visual contrast, and I wear glasses so I need it - mostly though the contrast was great, the art was great and the article was appropriate
