Garla
The largest and oldest city occupied by fairy kind. Garla, a haven for the winged creatures carved into the ancient tree standing strong at the centre of the Western forests of Luminescence. With homes, temples and gardens embedded into the trunk with a main pathway spiralling up to the top of the city.
Sights of Garla
Walking or flying around the city will allow you to witness all the wooden structures decorated with moss and flowers on rooftops. Branch bridges and lush, mossy walkways lined with various flowers and mushrooms to help navigate Garla. Hanging roots and hollow reed pipelines redirecting letters from the post office or water for the gardens are fitted with glowing buds to light up the city on a night. Upon entering the city, you will be met with the giant rooted archway that welcome most creatures from Sprites to Jynx. Once climbing through the city, you will be met with the Fairy Ring of Garla, located at the very top of the trunk. The Fairy Ring is a natural phonomena, a perfect circle that sprouted when the ancient tree finished growing. Ancestors of the city found that stepping into the ring transported them to other worlds. From the realm of magic to the land of giants. To protect this magical shape, fairies built a temple around it. Heavily guarding to ensure the safety of the city.Landmarks of Garla:
Blossom Temple - About halfway up the ancient tree, where the first great branch begins to separate from the trunk, lies the Blossom temple. A cathedral made from woven branches and intricate twisting pillars acts as a shrine to honour the Godess Danu, the mother of Fairy kind. Dust Deposits - Closer to the base of the city is large, flat mushroom platforms. Repurposed for gardens where deposits of raw fairy dust are grown. These are protected by the city guard, known as the Nymph Patrol, armoured with enchanted metallic armour that is lined with fairy dust for emergencies. Ruined Shrine of the Alliance - Once a beautiful plaza built towards the top of the city, now a pile of rubble that has fallen to the ground of the forest. Resting quietly on the edge of the city entrance. It is said that this shrine was the original meeting place for creatures across the realms who signed the Aura Alliance hundreds of years ago.Fairies of Garla:
Looking around the city, you will find a variety of fairies from across the lands. There are the elders, who have lived longer than any others, sharing knowledge with all and upholding the oldest of traditions. There are the younglings that must attend one of the four schools to learn about the world. All protected by the Nymph Patrol.Garla? Oh it's wonderful. Yes simply wonderful. Although there is a lot of tree to climb, which all good if you have wings. But then even I get tired about halfway up, and as for my kitten friends. Wait are they kittens? They might be fully grown cats now. Anywho, the city is really big. Like really big, think of the biggest thing you can think of, and then double it. No, triple it. Yes. That's what Garla is like. Height wise of course, not in width. It is a big tree, but not 'that' big of a tree. I'm even sure trees can get that wide...
