Rorestvia (ror-EST-vee-uh)

Nestled around Lake Rorest, Rorestvia is a land of history, diverse cultures, and simmering tensions.

The Clan System:

Clans in Rorestvia evolved as a response to centuries of occupation by the Triad Empires. They began as tight-knit family units banding together for mutual protection, resource sharing, and preservation of cultural identity under foreign rule. Over time, these clans grew into complex social structures that, while still rooted in kinship, have expanded beyond simple blood relations.

A History Forged in Conflict:

For centuries, the neighboring Triad Empires—the Lorg Empire, Eleran Empire, and Krirus Empire—have fought over Rorestvia. The fertile lands and strategic location have made Rorestvia a constant battlefield, with each empire seeking to claim the region. This cycle of war and occupation has shaped Rorestvian culture, leaving layers of diverse populations and webs of loyalties and resentments like sediment at the bottom of the lake.

The Rise of King Segast and Fragile Peace:

Three decades ago, a fragile balance was struck. Through several months-long negotiations at the Lake Rorest Summit, Segast Avenel managed to bring together enough clan leaders and empire representatives to agree to a withdrawal. Given his role in negotiating peace through the summit, several participants began to request that Segast lead the newly independent country.

Major Cities and Lake Rorest:

At the heart of Rorestvia lies Lake Rorest, a vast freshwater body that has nurtured its inhabitants people for generations. Along its shores, you'll find significant cities:   Swanward: The capital and seat of royal power, known for its elegant architecture and political intrigue.
Claypost: A bustling port city famed for its diverse population and thriving markets.
Cliffshear: carved into the River Cloudhill waterfall Cliffshear features tiers of hydro-engineering marvals, mining, and logistics hub.   Each city has its character, shaped by local clans, geography, and historical ties to the different empires.

Current Political Climate:

Recently, King Segast fell into a mysterious coma, and his son, Prince Gerrin Avenel, assumed control. Gerrin's rule has been marked by sweeping reforms to centralize power and promote a unified Rorestvian culture. These changes have been met with mixed reactions, from enthusiastic support to vehement opposition.

A Land of Opportunity and Danger:

Rorestvia stands at a crossroads. The fragile peace that has held for three decades shows signs of strain. Tensions between clans, cities, and factions are rising. Rumors of resistance movements and imperial machinations abound. For those with the skill and courage to navigate these turbulent waters, Rorestvia offers opportunities for power, wealth, and the chance to shape the future of a nation.
