The Orion Brigade

The Orion brigade is the name of a group that work for Orion Venrie. You are not simply a member of their sailing crew or officers, you help them attain his goals while being paid. While Orion is known to be a renound adventurer and hero, a literal legend, the good guy. However he is not as Lawful good as people think he is. While he isn't partaking in literal crimes, he does have connections with politicians, the queen, crooks, criminal syndicates and even some noble houses.

Structure

The leader and captain of The Beckinsale is Orion Venrie, a half-elf bard who is known to be a legendary hero that saved a settlement. He leads the brigade on his assignments, but is curious to see the rest of the world as well.

Public Agenda

The brigade and the others on The Beckinsale each have individual goals, but are here to help Orion Venrie achieve his goal of retrieving back his old crew. However, traveling the world and visiting other settlements is also a priority for the group, which doesn't have to happen in any order of settlements or landmarks.

Assets

The guildhall is literally inside The Beckinsale ship, but they often visit Beckinsale as well. The ship houses a crew, sailors, food and weapons to fend during airborne or sea combat. The most important is the officers of the ship, the Captain (Orion Venrie), the Quartermaster (Diana Roper), the First Mate (Raru Herangi), the Bosun (Scallywag), a cook (Shawna Swiftfoot) and a surgeon (Roma).

Brigade Benefits

• Accommodations. You can stay in your own rooms at The Beckinsale. The room is comparable to one you'd find in a comfortable inn, but at a modest price (5 sp per day).
• Compensation. You are paid for the work you do for the brigade. Orion Venrie pays you per mission, which on average is 10 gp x average level of your characters per day you spend on the mission.
• Independence Travel. You are allowed to travel along on The Beckinsale to any destination. While there are assignments that Orion Venrie has for you, you are allowed to go off track to travel to other destinations during your route since the main goal is to travel the world.
• Missions. Your work will lead somewhat by missions of Orion Venrie. Some assignments are more directive or more hands-off, as you pursue long-term goals.
• Social Immunity. As a member of the brigade, you are protected from other members of The Beckinsale and the connections of Orion Venrie. In addition, since Orion Venrie is a recognized legend and hero, you can use his name as a way to get into almost every establishment. You also have advantage on any charisma checks that involve social goals or diplomacy when involving your status. This doesn't give you immediate immunity to the laws of each kingdom, but people are more lenient. Rivals (other crime syndicates, bards, adventurers) are less lenient though so flaunting your status, isn't always good.
• Storage. The ship will store items for its brigade in a vault.
