Kingdom of Roldara

A centuries old kingdom, Roldara is political power controlling much of Vestria's eastern coast.

Structure

Roldara politically opperates under a parlimentary system with the various Heads of Noble Houses serving as a council to write and ratify broad legislation for the kingdom while the king is charged with executive functions.   The noble houses also act govern the land they perside over, tasked with managing local taxes, laws, and standing forces.   Trade guilds such as the Merchant and Craftsmen Guilds share a voice in regional policy making due to their influence and vest interests over commerce, but are limited in matters on the national scale.

Assets

Being the sizable kingdom that it is, Roldara has a sizable range of resources to draw from. Farm fields, stone quarries, even mana crystal mines, and more fuel trade and innovation.   The kingdom also boasts a large army with healthy amounts of both magical and non-magical troops to protect its borders and other interests.

Demography and Population

Roldara is a majortively Human country.   Minor communities of Elves and Half-Elves exist within its borders thanks to immigrants and oversea merchants.

Military

The Roldarian armies are known for their well armed and well trained men. Largely made up from the regional forces of the noble houses, skills and specialities can be quite varied based on terrain and resources of their localities. Pooling together said knowledge has proved to make the kingdom's military forces more versitile and effective.

Technological Level

Roldara possesses a respectable level of technological and scientific achievement thanks to its abundance of mana crystals, enchanted tools, and enterprising artificers.

Foreign Relations

Roldara maintains a good relationship with the Elven coutry of Kyama as it commands most of the eastern coast of Vestria and, therefore, is a major trading partner for the island nation.

Agriculture & Industry

Roldara holds a mix of both agricultural and industrial centers.

Trade & Transport

Roldarian merchants and tradesmen commonly make use of the river network stitched across the land to move both people and goods around the kingdom. For destinations where boats and barges are not viable, roads have been well worn between villages.   Nobles do impose and enforce checks and minor taxes when crossing between regions. While a source of revenue, the measures are also used as a means to help curtail smuggling and other black market opperations.

Education

Basic education within the kingdom most often comes from the work of churches. Their efforts allow public access to acquiring skills such as literacy and mathematics.    Tutors are available for hire for those wishing to continue their studies. However, the cost of such added education is often reserved for the wealthier members of society.   Private academies also exist, providing more multi-faceted education, but again, the cost of tuition prevents many working class citizens from attending.   In recent years, individuals of means such as Gavan Weiss have been working to help lower that barrier of entry, but prgress has been slow even for them.
