Vestra

The central continent of the world, Vestra is the hub of many wayward sailors and merchants, and is prized for it's lax environment. No large predators, dangerous plants, or hostile tribes call this place home, and many of the riches of the old world remain for the taking to any who are brave.

Geography

Northern Region

Dense woodlands, and largely unexplored valleys. These areas are home to many old sites, predating many of the people's who currently call the area home. Veins of Silver, Iron, and Copper are found throughout here.  

Middle Region

The ares to the middle of the continent are mostly deforested, due to years of tree clearing. Although the western half of the middle is oddly barren, with naught but crumbling ruins and a reddish dust settled over it all.  

Southern Region

Rolling grasslands, and low hills are common sights here. Large herds of horses and Austrex roam here, unhindered by fence or corral. Known all over for the equestrian friendly lands here., and the frequent jousting tournaments that are hosted.

Fauna & Flora

Fae Types

(common to Northern Vestra)
  • Spell-Speakers- Small mockingbirds who have mimicked the key words to a spell, thereby warping their physiology from their original design. Many Spell-Speakers parrot their speech continuously, much to the detriment of their surrounding areas. 
  • Boar Bristles- Small patches of thistle that incite rage in whoever cuts themselves on them. This feeling is very rarely fatal, and most who have been unfortunate enough to experience the effect subside an hour after contact.
  • Guldsnatch- Devious creatures who prize shiny items. Everything from cookware to valuables are found in Guldsnatch hordes.
  • Gremdins- Pests who live in treetops and tend to live on the borders of towns. They have an affinity to any magical activity, and will act erratic whenever in the presence of strong magical fields.
 

Grasslands Types

  • Grassland Austrex- The plains variant of the widespread large birdlike reptiles. Not many train to ride these ornery creatures, but those with stolid determination have earned the right to mount these creatures.
  • Common Vestran Thoroughbreds- The prized horses of the realm, these wild herds are followed meticulously by special horsemen, who ensure the health and breeding of the herd through indirect action.
  • Meeren- Small prairie burrowers who use the tall grassy areas to trap prey. Rabbits, birds, and sometimes small Austrex are the mainstays of this creatures diet.
  • Lonestalks- Tall chutes, with vine protrusions all over its body. These large solitary plants will grow to an average height of 20 feet, and spread their seed violently before death. The seeds launched through the opening in the top can float over miles before settling.
